I purchased this as a gift for someone. I asked what people used for smoking. Evidently this is the gold standard for serious smokers. I know the person I sent it to was very happy to receive it. Too bad I live too far away from him to taste the end product.

I grill constantly on an Akorn charlgriller using this lump coal. I love it and it lasts me forever. I used one bag for 4 months because with an akorn you can smoke or grill then lock and close the vents to smother the fire and keep reusing the coals until they are gone. This gives a great flavor to the food that is alot like smoking with hickory chips. So much better than brikettes and there is no accelerant lighter fluid flavor corrupting your food. Medium to large sized lump coals virtually no dust or tiny unusable pieces.

This is phenomenal charcoal. Really good taste for anything cooked over it. Try this you’ll never go back to ordinary charcoal. There’s a huge difference in taste. Do not use fluid starters as that will ruin the experience. We use a paper filled chimney.
