This U 10304 Chain Door Guard Lock is a security locking device for doors, allowing a door to be slightly opened to allow safe viewing and ventilation. This door lock can also be installed out of reach of children so they cannot open the door by themselves, providing additional child-safe door security. Installation is quick and easy with fasteners included, providing added security for your home or office doors. This door guard is constructed of extruded brass with a classic bronze finish and a 6 inch, 8-link welded steel chain. The 3-5/16 inch chain guard can be used on a variety of door types and can be placed over or beside door casing. It features a 6 inch long, 8-link welded steel chain and all installation fasteners necessary for complete install.

This chain door guard is constructed of extruded brass and comes in a satin nickel plated finish. It features a 6-inch long, 8-link welded steel chain and all installation fasteners necessary for complete install. When this chain door guard is fully assembled and engaged from base to keeper, the chain will extend to 4-5/8 inches. To determine the maximum distance it secures a door for safe viewing or ventilation, subtract the thickness of the door from 4-5/8 inches (approx. 3-inches). It can be used on a variety of door types and over, or beside door casing. The smaller chain-holder base measures 3/4 inches wide, and the wider chain lock keeper measures 3-5/16 long; both with a height of 2-inches. This chain door guard also works great as a child-safe security device which can help prevent little ones from fully opening doors and entering or exiting into dangerous areas. Works as promised. The only downside is that if you don't predrill your screw holes, you may end up bending the cheap lag screws they give you. Learn from the person that didn't.

I got those for my front door because I didn’t want my toddler to leave my house at any point. It’s just one of my fears. It has worked great no problems obviously very simple to install hasn’t broke. Seems durable doesn’t feel cheap at all. Definitely does what I needed to do.

I wish the screws for mounting in the door were just a touch longer, but with almost no handiness, I found this extremely easy to install and very sturdy! I'm not using it for "security" so much as just preventing my toddler from making a break for it and this will work well for that.

This door chain came in on time and exactly as described. I purchased it as a secondary lock for my back door and it works great to prevent my landlord from entering my unit unannounced. It is definitely not strong enough to be used a regular lock if you're using it to really keep people out. But if you are purchasing this for a bedroom door, or for reasons like I am, then it is fantastic.
