This flat screen spline is constructed of vinyl and comes black in color. The spline measures 5/16 inch (0.315 inch) wide x 0.092 inch tall x 100 ft. long and it is used for installing fiberglass screen mesh into aluminum screen frames. This type of screen spline is installed by laying it flat into the spline channel (over the fiberglass screen mesh) and inserting the inner edge of the screen spline under the lip of the screen frame. The spline can then be rolled in along the outer edge of the screen spline.
From the Manufacturer

Ordered this flat spline for screen replacement and it arrived one day after ordering and worked perfectly, soft and pliable rubber!

A section of our patio screen pulled out during the last two hurricanes. I did some research and figured I could manage to fix it myself and save a few hundred dollars. I was right..really nothing to it after a quick learning curve. Watch some videos and buy quality tools (I'm sure I will need them again and it was still less money than paying someone). I could have reused the original spline, but I didn't want it to wiggle out again. I read the reviews on this product...they are spot on! What a pain to start the strip (even worse since I wasn't sure what I was doing). Do yourself a huge favor; set this stuff in the sun for a while before you start. What a difference!!! It got so much easier as it was hanging in the sun waiting for me. This is a nice big roll and I have plenty for future repairs. Fits into the Florida style patios perfectly. I also got the square plastic screen clips (only ones on Amazon) that a video suggested to hold the screen in place while working and really made the job easy overall.

This appears to be a good quality product but there are mistakes in the description of the width.

Thank god for Amazon. This spleen cannot be found here in SWFL after Hurricane Ian. Came when they said and comes on a nice reel and works great. A little tip put the reel in the sun before installing to soften the spleen. Will buy more to keep for the next time I need to fix my pool lani screens.

We ran out of spline and were in a pinch so though this would be worth a try. It's a much harder plastic and very difficult to use compared to the other brand we use. We won't use it again.

After using the same type product from a big box store, I found this product slightly easier to work with. This one seems to be more rubberized and is slightly easier to work with than the other product which was stiffer and seemed more like a vinyl product. You can buy this product with confidence. The other product works, but is exhausting to work with. Four stars because I would like something a little more flexible. May be unrealistic, because this project was my first using this type of spline.

I couldn't find flat spline in any of our local hardware stores (Ace, Lowe's) so decided to try online. Very glad I did. It installed perfectly using a spline tool. I'm no screening pro, I've only replaced screen in one door many years ago... and yet I got two doors done in less than 45 minutes, it's nice and tight, looks perfect... and I couldn't have done it without this spline. Good product, now I know where to get flat spline at a great price!

I bought this for kind of an odd purpose, but it turned out great. We have an older leanto greenhouse/sunroom we purchased many years ago. The frame is still good, but the top windows started popping out and I couldn't get them to stay in any longer, so I removed all the top and front windows. I covered the top with poly roofing sheets and added screen to the front windows.. There are grooves where the original windows fit, so I bought this hoping it could fit this in those grooves, keeping screen in place.. It works! I did the screens about 6 weeks ago, and all five windows are holding up very well. It appears to be good quality. I didn't have any problems inserting it. I used a window screen tool to roll it into the grooves. It cut easily with a pair of scissors.. I have gobs of it left, so I have plenty if I find another project to use it in.
