They can be installed by gently tapping into pace using a hammer or mallet. Hat nuts are most often used to hold wheels in place on dollies/hand trucks, carts, pressure washers, air compressors and etc.

I would say these are useless. They must be mild steel or something because they push onto the axle then fall off. No holding power.

Replacing axle push caps on a restore of a Tonka toy pickup turned into a not so simple finish to my restore project. I put them on with a small socket, with a couple of taps and I thought they were on. Change to the opposite end of the axle, do the same thing and the other side is loosened, maybe stretched. They can't be trusted. I'm looking for a threading die, and I'm going to put threaded nuts on, instead. These Primeline push caps are not good quality.

Poor manufactures tolerance. Poor quality. Several just came off, didn't bite the metal rod. Probably threw about half the package out, wouldn't buy again.

These were sold as axle hats to fit a 3/16" shaft. The opening on these axle hats are 3/8" and do not fit.
