We use this to sifter for baking powder for the cat litter box. It's wonderful for that. However, the sifter did not come with a cap or cover. You must put your hand or something over it to keep the powder from flying all over the place. I would recommend.

My wife has another plastic version that finally broke after many years.She liked this because it has a small container on the bottom to collect prior mixing.On the downside, it's very hard to remove and assemble. We're always worried about breaking it since it's only plastic.The bottom lid seems to be able to be removed but we haven't been able to find out how.For the time being is working out in the kitchen.

I really, really wanted to like this. I ordered one, put in a baking mix to sift and . . . nothing. Took more time than I care to admit to discover the rotating wires never make contact with the metal grate.Okay, so I hoped I got a dud and exchanged it for another one.Received the second one and same problem. Tried to adjust it, but it's not designed to be taken apart to get to the grate. From what I could see, the grate is simply a pressed metal screen shape; it is not wrapped around a ring or sturdy in the least. If you fidget it with it, you can pop the grate out and deform it simply by squeezing it in your hand if you tried. Now factor in the grate is simply wedged, poorly, between plastic pieces and you'll understand why it's rarity you'll get a properly working unit. If you do get a working unit, be warned that the grate is not held securely, so the odds are not in your favor that this will stand the test of time.
