While I can still use it, it dropped from a counter onto a rug on my kitchen floor and the bottom of it cracked off. I tried to superglue the bottom on and it would not hold. So now I just put a paper towel under it and grind the nuts and then take the paper towel and put the crushed nuts into a container. Seems to me that for the price it would be a little sturdier. Otherwise it works fairly well. If I had it to do over I might go with a rechargeable electric one next time.

Have had one of these for years. It still works but plastic part started to crack, so figured it was about time to replace it. Wish there were more things made out of metal these days instead of plastic.I found that when using it for the harder nuts such as almonds, if I microwave them for a few seconds to soften them prior to using chopper, and doing a few at a time works best. Also using a half turn, back and forth helps limit the fines

I'm liking this one better than I thought I would. it works better than the last one, actually makes a little larger chunks and a bit less "dust". given the shape it does get a bit of buildup in the "corner" where the blades meet the edge. can be a pain to clean this area. would buy again.

Why did I wait so long? Dear lord, every holiday I am fighting with a hand me down nut chopper that hardly works. This one is a dream. It chops like a dream. It was well worth the money. It's so easy to use, easy to clean, and I can choose to chop fine or coarse. Who knew? Bonus, I don't have the loud clinging anymore.

I have not used this to chop nuts yet. I mainly purchased it to see if it would chop onions and celery. I don't want to bring out the big food processor with the 2 curved blades just to make a little potato salad or macaroni salad, which is what I usually use a chopper for anyway.........I save the "big guns" for "big jobs", which are rare. Plus I also have an electric mini chopper with the same 2 curved blades as the food processor and don't like it.......some of the onions and celery chop, but I wind up with bigger pieces stuck to the sides of the chopper's container and you have to keep opening the container to release the food from the sides = annoying. This Prepworks chopper is GREAT! For celery, I first prefer to lightly peel the strings off the outside with a knife (or you could try a potato peeler), cut up some 1" pieces and put in the top chopper; onions I cut up in chunks. This chopper has "6" blades! If a few pieces get stuck in the top while chopping, just give the chopper a couple of shakes. You can also turn the handle in both directions......if the food pieces get stuck, just turn the handle the opposite direction to unstick them......and then go back to the direction you desire. Instructions say to turn one way for smaller pieces, and the other for larger pieces. This chopper is also easy cleanup......it has 3 pieces: the top cover, the top chopper holder, and the bottom container which just twists onto the top.; I just hand wash with dishwashing soap, pouring soap over the blades too and use my sink sprayer to rinse the blades well......then I just let the pieces drain/air dry and then put the unit back together and lay it down inside of a regular-sized Baggies brand storage bag which fits it perfect; I also keep the instructions inside of another baggie and store the unit and instructions together in one bag. I've used this chopper 3 times so far and have never had a problem.......it is so fast, easy, and enjoyable to use.........I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!

this chopper works exactly as advertised. i have fresh almonds over fresh fruit every morn and i grind a small portion once or twice a week. complaints about it jamming are true in the sense that a nut will occasionally get hung up, but isn't that true of anything the texture of almonds in a hand-nut chopper? just back off a bit and continue grinding away. after grinding, if you like, turn it upside down and give it a few more turns for finer ground nuts. keeps as a container until you need or want fresh nuts. appears and feels to be quite sturdy. overall, a great little product purchased here that i think will hold up for a long time. good buyUpdate 2/12/14 Just wanted to mention that the picture of the chopper does not really do it justice. i think the chopper/grinder is more sturdier than one might think. also, i wanted to make a point and give a small tip. first, i see this as a grinder, not a chopper. a chopper (handheld) requires one to force down several times on the unit and a grinder, well, we all know what that is...you just grind away. point being, i tried chopping bouillon cubes and they kept getting hung up in my chopper, but using this grinder, i am able to grind bouillon cubes for use in soups or drinks. while you might not want to be so forceful with yours, i have not found any problem in doing so with mine. not a biggie-just wanted to pass it along.
