The double boiler design slowly and gently warms up the milk to its boiling temperature. Eliminates excessive heat, which can result in scorched flavor and formation of protein layer. Whistle in the boiler gently intimates you that the boiling process has begun. Add water to the milk boiler by unscrewing the whistle. Fill the water in the boiler. Do not overfill the boiler, overfill will result in water spilling out of the whistle while boiling milk. Medium to High flame setting will also result in the water spillage.Screw in the whistle to the milk boiler. Keep the boiler on a stove and pour milk in it. Do not heat the boiler without adding water through the whistle. The milk will not boil or will take longer time to boil and there will not be any whistling sound from the whistle if there is no water in the double boiler. If the whistling sound comes down , it means that there is not sufficient water and turn off the boiler immediately. This will burn the bottom of the pan and will not heat the milk. Water is heated first and then the heat is transferred from the water to the milk. The double boiler design limits the overflow of milk. This ensures that the milk is heated slowly and thoroughly without the risk of burning.

The valve is facing sides and the water is coming out of the valve. The screw should have been calculated to face up (the hole)

Like: Does what it is supposed to do.Dislike: The handles get very hot. I needed mittens to hold the handles and pour the milk into a different container -- rather unwieldy. Handles are also rather loose and flimsy. One has to be careful handling this pot.

This is a great little milk boiler made out of stainless steel. It arrived a lot quicker than I thought it would which was a bonus.Really good quality and very sturdy workmanship.

I bought this boiler, after I recently discarded my previous one which served 10 years. I just received it now and after receiving this, I casually checked my old milk boiler's details. To my surprise, it's premier milk boiler. That was a gift to me and the person who gifted me brought it in person without the outer package so the brand name was not in my mind in all these years.I haven't started using my new milk boiler but my old one lasted for 10 years and I used it every day to make yogurt; even now it is good except that I missed the whistle and it's screw and decided to go for a new one. I am happy that I unknowingly bought the same brand and excited to use it.

I need to heat milk to a scolding point of 180+ F to make yogurt. Usual pans are difficult to use and the milk often runs away and always leaves scorched layer at the bottom. So, I got this pan, filled water to outer shell up to a nozzle and filled it full with milk (1 Quart) and put on my electric stove on high. Nothing was happening. Literally. No noise, no action. 20 minutes later I checked the temperature and it was at 190 F! Perfect. Took it off - the inside of this pan was as arrived - nice and shiny. No scorched milk layer. Wonderful product. Easy to use and also looks good.

I have used milk boiler all my life, I needed an additional one so bought the "Stainless Steel Milk Boiler 1.5ltrs Premier" . The product arrived promptly and next thing i know the handle broke even before I used it, I was going to rinse the boiler and use it, very excited :) but then i thought ok i can live without one handle. But ugh.....within few weeks I noticed a crack on the inner side of the boiler while boiling milk, so within 3 weeks of it's use my new milk boiler was trashed. Bottom line, i would not recommend this product to anyone, it is very cheap quality, and not stainless steel some kind of cheap alloy, wrong advertisement. If there was negative rating I would given the highest negative rating! Very disappointed!

I read the reviews before buying this and have to agree with most of them. Yes, this is cheaply made but at least not from China and unless you're very rough with it, it's sturdy enough. And yes, it is the easiest and most convenient way of making yogurt that I've ever tried and that is precisely what I bought it for so I'm very pleased.

I was getting tired of waiting around the kitchen to see that the milk did not boil over, which actually has happened many times!Using a pan was not the best solution. I had seen this boiler in India and was told that it works well.It is not heavy duty stainless, but it is stainless and does the job. A word of advice, when the whistle goes off, the milk is done. No need to wait long. The only negative is the small size, it could have had a larger volume.I would consider this a good product of good quality and value.

I had been looking for a proper milk boiler for a long time when I came upon this little guy here. I was very relieved to find it was actually a double-walled pot, not like the typical American double-boilers. It has a little funnel to help you pour water into the space between the sides through a small hole, which has a removable whistle on it so you know when the water is boiling.I use this constantly to make yogurt and it fulfills my needs very well. It washes fairly well and I have not noticed a flaw in the metal yet. I should add that I do not have kids and am making yogurt mostly for myself, so the relatively small size does not bother me (in fact it is perfect). It may look absurdly diminutive, but it makes a decent amount of yogurt. However, if you have a family and you all eat large amounts of yogurt, I would suggest trying to look for a larger one. I must confess I have failed to find one yet.I would highly recommend this for anyone seeking a way to make yogurt - it does exactly what it is supposed to and if you soak it in water immediately after pouring the milk out it cleans up super easily too. Even if milk dries on the walls, a little soak will still easily get it off.As of writing this review, I've had this item for 2 months.
