- Felting cushions are commonly made of foam, which are often made of harsh chemicals. Felting cushions from Desert Breeze Distributing are made of 100% pure and natural sheep wool.
- Precision needles are important for success in needle felting. Felting needles have tiny barbs going in one direction that catch the scales of the wool fibers and lock them together. When a needle is rough and the barbs are not well defined, the felting process can be erratic and leave a rough surface. The needles in this kit are made of high-carbon steel and offer precise control of the felting process. - TOP NEEDLE - precision made from high carbon steel. Well defined barbs and smooth, steel for quality felting.
- BOTTOM NEEDLE - cheaply made from low quality metal. The rough texture and jagged barbs cause erratic felting.

I love this tiny little set. It comes with a lovely little instruction manual to understand the needles. I was in need of finishing a project I had begun and the kit came just in time. It’d perfect.

I love the needles and case!The wool is of excellent quality, nice and soft. The mat is of good quality, dose not deform, but dose shed so you will need to put something over the top. Thimbles are nice but I don't use them often (sometimes I pay for it haha).

This is a really nice beginner felting kit. I was able to get started immediately, making a little rabbit for Easter. The materials are all very nice and durable (at least from a beginner’s standpoint).

I'm never disappointed with the quality of these sellers products. You may hesitate because the price is slightly higher but in these products price really makes a difference! I've had so many needles break. I used this kit over Thanksgiving to help my young grandson learn needle felting and not a single needle broke. It was awesome! And the pad is great too! I will be coming back every time!

I like this set very much. The needles are good... none have broken yet. The size of the felting pad is good. I'm currently using it within a wool sweater to felt designs on to it to cover moth holes. I was worried it wouldn't be thick enough but my lap has been safe so far

Let me start off with saying I LOVE THESE NEEDLES! They are way better than ones I have previously bought somewhere else. Very sturdy.The felting pad is super cute and I do like it, it dod shed a little on first use i’m sure it will get better with use.the thumb guard is okay, a bit long but useable.However, the forefinger guard is obnoxiously long and not usable. My kids cannot even use it.If you’re looking for finger guards I do not recommend the ones in this kit.

I am a beginner needle felter. This was a game changer for me. The finger protectors are excellent quality and keep me from sticking or going through my thumb and first finger. The tin is perfect for holding all my needles and my small scissors. I am still using the box it all came in to store everything because it is durable and really pretty too. The felting cushion is a nice size perfect for when I am sitting in front of the TV felting. The quality is great and now that I am hooked on felting, quality products matter. I can see the difference between the inexpensive "starter" kit I originally purchased from another manufacturer and this Basic Kit from Desert Breeze. The needles are fantastic and I went out and bought more of their needles...which still fit great in the tin. Desert Breeze will be my go-to for felting needs.
