This is accurate enough for this hobby machinist. It helped me tram my mill to the standards I needed. This has a wide assortment of shims and are easy to combine to get the thickness you need.

I bought a box of these to true up the columns of a steel building we are assembling. I had 10 columns with 4 anchor bolts each. The concrete is never perfectly level between the bolts and the columns are probably not perfect either. With these shims, we set each post down and kept swapping shims until we had the posts plumb in both directions. I had also bought a bunch of 1/2" large flat washers for big adjustments. With the slot, we didn't have to lift each post off to make an adjustment. We just loosened the nuts on the anchor bolts and rocked the column away from the shim we needed to change. My concrete was reasonably close but I still used most of some sizes of the shims. There were smaller ones left I could have combined to do a few more columns if needed. They are stainless so I won't have to worry about them rusting away in 5-10 years either. Depending on the loads on your building, this might not be the correct way to accomplish what we were after. Consult an qualified engineer for your specific application.
