It will take some getting used to using it to finesse the cuts, but I bought it to plane an old door edge and it works great. I already feel it was worth the price and that I've gotten my money's worth out of it in labor/time alone.

I use it mainly for smoothing out 1x4's and 2x4's for furniture building. Its replacing my 18-year old Black and Decker 3.25" planner that finally stopped working properly. This Powertech looks and feels like a professional tool. I already tested it on a piece of 2x4 pine and it came out smooth as glass. Very good machine.

Planer itself WORKED great. Basically disposable though since I haven’t been able to find replacement blades anywhere at all. Outside of that it worked great, and it’s nice for cleaning up 2x4 and 4x4 with the larger cut.
