This manual blast gate helps maximize your dust collection system by regulating proper air flow to your designated machine of choice. Acting as an in-line gate to control the vacuum flow to specified areas of your work shop, it’s designed to work seamlessly with a variety of flexible hoses, ducts, and 4-inch ports for an assortment of popular brands. Compatibility - Both ends have 4” OD outlet diameters and are designed to work with 4” ID dust hoses or other 4” ID ports. Will not connect directly to other 4” OD ports, please confirm that the actual listed size fits your application before ordering. If connecting to a 4” OD port, a POWERTEC 70149 Flex Cuff or similar device will be required. I used this as a gate from my gerbils cage to their playpen connected with the 4 inch tubing. It works great for this and they love it. I can close the gate when it is time for them to stay in their cage. It is perfect for this purpose.

As described. I have this 4" blast gate and a 2.5" blast gate going from my dust collect to separate hoses. Both blast gates are sturdy and work well.

They work as expected. I have some concern about their longevity. The slides are stiff and difficult to open. The slides also flex, which will likely lead to material fatigue and fracture.

I used these when I built my HF dust collection system. For any DIYers or woodworkers, having good dust collection is key to keeping the shop clean. There's more expensive brands but these get the job done. I needed the 4 inch for the larger suction and they have worked great. They aren't heavy duty but so far I haven't had any issues.

I put about 8 of these on tools around my shop to connect them to a jet 1300 CFM did collector.On one of them, the plastic had split apart so the sliding gate would just fall out. I super glued it back together and it was ok.Big problem is that over the next 3-4 weeks they would no longer close all the way. I tried removing trapped dust with a tooth pick but it was too much work and not effective. You can see what happens in the picture. I took one apart so I could see exactly what was going on. Dust will get trapped and the gate won't close fully. If the small opening doesn't bother you then it's fine. With as many tools as I have connected to the system, that opening across all of them is equivalent to a fully open gate so it's not viable. I had to replace them all with gates that go both ways so they don't clog.
