It is criminal what Dewalt charges for a replacement belt for their planer. I decided to give these a try and with there being two in a package, I figured I could replace them every 6 months for 5 years for the price of a single OEM belt if they turn out to be lower quality. So far, with light use anyway, the first one seems to be working and holding up just fine.I do not know how this compares to the OEM version but it was quite a PITA to get it on. Makes me wonder if it is slightly shorter or maybe stiffer than the OEM version.. It probably took me almost an hour and several different tries to finally get it on so I sure hope that it lasts as long as the OEM one did (about 10 years). I actually bought an OEM one too just in case this one didn't work out but never took it out of the packaging so I could send it back if this one worked out ok. The OEM did seem a little less stiff inside the flexible packaging but not significantly.

Broke a belt. First one in about 8 years Replacement belt is frustration all the way. You can get it on but have to be very patient work slowly and hang in there it can be done. It works very well. Very happy..

I ordered these after my original met with an untimely run in with a roll of blue painters tape and melted/exploded all over the outside and inside of my planner. Thus far this little belt is doing its job. They are a slight bear to install on the upper sprocket but other than that it’s doing what it’s supposed to do.

Perfect replacement. The original belt melted after a jam that tripped the breaker. I forgot to turn it off first, so when I reset the beaker and walked back it melted! The replacement was pretty easy and straightforward, not nearly as complicated as some videos make it out to be. TIP: attach the belt to the small pulley first, then “start” the belt on the edge of the large pulley and turn it with a socket wrench. It will feed itself on and you’re done. Just make sure it is fully seated, and watch your fingers while you adjust it lol.

I decided after 8 years it was time to swap out the oem belt for a new one after it started slipping. I come across this pair of belts and thought it would be nice to have a spare. I installed the first belt and before I could even get one board through I smelled hot rubber so I shut the machine off and looked and the belt had ashtray walked itself off and began to melt. Keep in mind this was in less than 60 seconds. So with frustration I disassembled everything I had just done and realized the belt had melted itself into the groove as well. So after a hour of scrapping I now had both pulleys clean I reinstalled the second belt with hesitancy but I was in the middle of a order so it had to work. I have now have run about 200 bf of cedar through and noticed a ticking noise. So after removing the side cover to no surprise the second belt had began to melt as well. So I ordered a new pulley because it's not worth the time it takes to scrap the sticky rubber off. I received the new oem belt and pulley installed them and ran the rest of my cedar and about 500bf of oak with no issue and no signs of wear. So please take my word and do not buy these belts they are very cheaply made.
