Lithium phosphate batteries require a charging voltage of between 14.4 and 14.6 volts in the bulk charging phase. If they don’t get this voltage they will deteriorate. The instructions for this converter (clearly poorly translated from another language ) state the bulk charging voltage is 14.6 BUT states this only lasts for 1/2 an hour. This is not what’s required. Bulk charge should last until the battery reaches full charge at 14.4-14.6 regardless of how long it takes (determined by current output). In fact this short of a bulk charge will absolutely degrade an expensive lithium battery!

When I bought my camper a year ago (used, 2009 model) I discovered my converter was bad. This brand was recommended by a friend who has been using this brand for a very long time (at least 10 years)I don't know much about electrical work but I'm pretty handy and with the added help of watching a YouTube video I was able to safely install this, replacing my bad unit in my camper. It's been 6 months, I've had a few rough storms roll through causing power surges and outages, and this converter is still operating the way it should. I LOVE there is a green light on it do even with the circuit box closed up, I can glance at through the vents on it and see that it's still working properly. It fixed my camper powers' issues of not charging.

Charged my batteries up. I have lifepo4, put it in set voltage mode and left it alone.Things to note the fan will turn on and off as it charges which is normal.

I used instructions I found on You tube to ensure install was correct. I needed more details to ensure it was good to go.

I found that the PowerMax PM3-55 was an excellent replacement for my OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part. Thanks to its user-friendly design and clear instructions, the installation process was straightforward and hassle-free. Once installed, the converter charger worked flawlessly, delivering consistent power to my RV's electrical system without any issues. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the PowerMax PM3-55 converter charger, as it not only seamlessly replaced my old part but also provided reliable performance during my travels.

Just installed this PM3-55-MBA battery charger in my RV to replace the failed WFCO unit. After reading reviews and considering price point I elected to go with this one. It is an easy installation though I did elect to strip all wires back further than the manufacturer provided. The exposed ends were just nubs, nicely tinned but short. They have a CYA clause that requires installation by a certified electrician, but anyone that can tell red from white and black from white plus green and yellow striped can do it providing they can use a screwdriver. Takes about ten minutes. I removed all power from the RV by disconnecting the 110v primary cable and the battery cables. This was to prevent possible short circuiting during installation and is the correct method. The unit puts out a steady 14.57 volts. I appreciate the green indicator lamp that is visible through the grille on the distribution panel cover plate. That way I know it is working. Read one post where the installer had problems fishing the red and white power leads in behind the fuse panel. The better way is to pop the panel free and the wires can be easily routed behind it. It just pops out and in. The release is on the bottom.I cannot speak as to durability or longevity of this product, but cannot find much on line indicating anything amiss. I did see one posting that indicated the person received a defective unit that was replaced. Personally I have no qualms regarding this unit. Should that change I will add to or modify this review accordingly. (providing it gets posted)

Good fit. Fan only comes on when it needs to cool. Has worked as expected for a couple months now. 20 minutes to install. Don’t be afraid to do it yourself. You can do this. Just make sure the battery and shore power are disconnected.

I've been using this converter for a couple of weeks and so far it has performed great. It replaced my WAFCO 8955 perfectly and looks like it's better made. It was an easy install. The cooling fan is larger and blows a lot of air to keep it cool.

off the grid in canadaordered the 35 amp. recieved 45 amp unit.on top of the 3 week waiting period. once installed, my lights were bright for 15 mins then dimmed out like before i replaced the converter. reset everything twice the same out come. my input is a 23 amp max service. this could cause a low power draw for the 45 amp considering it should be designed for more constant power input.not sure what todo. i rely on my system for the brutal nites.
