  • Powermate pressure switch is durable and long lasting
  • New Powermate pressure switch allows air compressor to run at its most efficient capacity, turning on and off the motor at the correct psi

The Powermate pressure switch is part of the large line of Powermate genuine replacement parts. A pressure switch regulates air pressure in the compressor. Replace a pressure switch with a new Powermate pressure switch if the compressor motor is cutting out or not turning on at the proper psi.

The compressor switch I bought was exactly as I wanted, it even had all the same markings as the original. Very satisfied.

Worked perfect for my compressor. Easy to install and getting it going again. Running perfectly fine for the last few months and still going strong.

The switch on my compressor fried so I replaced it with this one. Wiring, etc was exactly the same so it was an easy pop off the old one, tape fittings and screw it all back together then slip the wires back on the posts and you're back in business. I've used it numerous times since installing and it's performing well. It is adjustable if you need to (plenty of resources online for that). I needed to and it took a second to do.

After 3 years my Husky air compressor started blowing the pressure relief valve and eventually it blew it at night and needed up burning the motor up. I replaced the motor and noticed it was doing the same thing. So I bought a bigger valve but it didn’t help. I had replaced almost everything except the tank and the cast iron pump when I decided to replace this on and off pressure switch. To my surprise that fixed it. It works just like new. So far I have not had any problems with the new switch so I gave it a rating based on that. But I also have to say the original one was also the same model and it failed short of 3 years and we are not rough on this I am the only person who uses it and I normally just flip the breaker to turn it off that way I don’t wear out the switch. So in conclusion I wish I would have replaced this part right away I would have saved myself some trouble and time. This part fixed the problem and is working well now but I don’t expect it to last more than a couple of years.

Easy enough to install but the switch wasn't set to the correct off PSI, bought one 11 or 12 years ago and if was perfect, but as time goes by we've all seen quality control deminish, but if you do purchase this switch, its easy enough to adjust, install, let compressor run til cuts off, if pressure is low, turn the highest screw under cap (after you cut off power) one turn clockwise to gain approx 5 psi per full 360 turn!

I just read another one star review where they had the same problem as me with these switches. I have an 80 gallon BelAire compressor at my shop that originally came with one of these Powermate switches that failed and I have installed two more of these switches that have all failed the same way. When the compressor builds up to its pressure and shuts off the pressure relief valve inside the switch gets stuck and it goes into full bleed mode! If I leave the switch in the on position then I'm able to jam a small screwdriver into the valve to make it stop bleeding the air. I'm about to install a third switch and I'm even going to use one with a lower shut off pressure of 135 psi. I'm also installing a filter / separator directly to the tank before the switch this time to see if it helps. A word of advice, buy the extended 3 year warranty for $1.41 there's a good chance that you'll need it.Update: I just spent over an hour today of my valuable time installing the 4th switch along with a water-particulate separator "before" the switch and this switch failed immediately! It built up to pressure, shut off at the specified pressure, and then immediately blew non stop air from it's faulty pressure relief valve. There is a serious quality control issue here! I'm not here to promote other brands but I just did a lot of research and went with another brand.
