Main Wiring Harness
Connect the main wiring harness with the jumper connector which is under the armrest box of passenger seat side.Then pull open the wire from the bottom of seat to tailgate.
Deputy Wiring Harness
Connect the deputy wiring harness wiring with the tailgate door lock actuator and rear view camera in the body of truck bed and fix it by clips and plastic zip ties.
Power Door lock Actuator
Install the power actuator on the position as the picture showed then put the screw on the top.

This is a definite knock off.. Clips on the harness in the wrong locations, Lock mechanism on backwards, and cheap clips that broke immediately and they are crucial to the installation. Save yourself time and buy the Toyota-branded one.

Worked great for just under a year and the actuator came apart. Once the actuator fails, the lock is useless. I’ve been waiting nearly a month for a reply on how to get the compatible actuator. Would NOT recommend this kit.

I liked that it came with all mounting supplies. But a plug under the seat needs to be removed. This will allow the wire to run under the vehicle. I wish it had a replacement plug with some water tight penetration, for the wire to pass through

With the instructions you could install the tailgate lock but, its' easier if you view the videos a couple of times before you start. I installed this because of Costco trips having to unlock manually. I didn't want to leave unlocked and have tailgate stolen. I also installed a tailgate anti-theft hinge lock which cost almost the same and I recommend you do the same. I've seen a lot of trucks missing tailgates.

Great Product Also Just in case this tailgate lock works on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma , I installed it on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma yesterday and works perfect , So for anyone looking to install one even though is says that it’s for a 2019-2022 you could still install on a 2017 and up

2year review. It broke. It doesn't work no more. At fisrt I was really happy then the actuator started being very loud and finally stoped functioning. I just spent 3x more for an OEM from Toyota. I expect that a car part last way longer then almost 2 years. Junk. Spend money with the original u will save time and money.It was easy to install if you are inclined to DIY. Has been working like a charm. Parts looks just like OEM. The longevity only time will tell. The only problem I found was a lock washer that didn't fit well and it would lock in place so I had use a plier to close the gap and lock the washer in place.
