Install was pretty straight forward. The first time we used it, it worked great, letting us know when the power to our house had come back on so I could disconnect my generator. However, the 3 times that we have tried to use it since then, it has never activated when power has come back on. I rechecked how it was installed and even had an electrician look at it while they were here to make sure it was installed correctly. It simply does not work. Again, has only worked effectively 1 out of 4 power restorations. Not worth the time or money.

has not been installed as of yet, but am sure should be easy and work just fine to let us know when power comes back on

The power return alarm was extremely easy to install and so far seems to be good quality. When tested the audible alarm was quite loud making it easy to know when the power returns.

Was sketchy to put in, but I work as an electrician as a day job. Power coincidentally went out as I was fueling, testing and preparing my 8kw generator for winter power outages. I have a gas furnace, so just need power for fan and controller. I just installed it, and forgot to test it before installing. Got tested now!

I have a whole house backup portable generator and every time the power goes out it seems to be in the daytime. So knowing when power comes back on was waiting on the power company to shoot out a text or email. Very annoying wasting gas when power comes back and there is no way to know. I took my chances and bought this thing. If you don't work around electricity, I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU HOOK THIS UP YOURSLEF. I have been working with electricity for decades, and it still scares me. When I had my new breaker panel installed (by a professional) it has covers over the two-phase wires, so doing this myself was not a huge issue. I very carefully wrapped the sensor wire around one of the phase wires and secured with a zip tie. It took a few weeks before the power went out (again, during the day). I armed the alarm and as soon as power was restored, the alarm went off. It's in the garage above the panel, and it's loud so there was no issue hearing it over the generator. I definitely recommend this. Because of the heat and humidity in the garage, I remove the batteries until I need them. Experience with storing batteries in equipment in hi humidity areas, will cause corrosion.

Living in the mountains is wonderful but not without it's problems. We have frequent disruptions of our power and having a generator on standby is a must. Though once we disconnected from the main power grid and fired up the generator we had to keep checking our power meter to see if the utility company power was back on. This little unit now tells us when the main power is back on so we can switch off the generator and switch the house back over to the grid. The alarm was easy enough for me to install and the alarm is loud enough to be heard anywhere in the house. I figure this unit will eventually pay for itself with all the savings we get by not burning fuel when it's not necessary.

Works great, however as is, you can’t hear in other areas of home. As most fuse boxes are in the basment or garage my solution was to wire an external audio output.

Does what it says on the tin. Easy to install, just wind the sensor wire around your mains line in, connect up the earth and away you go. Nice loud siren to warn you when the mains comes back online. Saves chewing through fuel on your generator for no reason.Quick delivery from the good ol' US of A.

The instructions in the box say that the max voltage is 120V, although this had not been mentioned in the advert. I guess this is for the USA domestic market reasons. However, before returning it, I tried it on our 240V supply (the UK domestic voltage) and it worked fine. It’s easy to mount on the wall with the sticky pads supplied. I would have preferred to use screws but this would have required taking the unit apart to use the backplate holes.Once mounted on the wall, installation is very easy.Overall, a great little unit but the supplier could perhaps clarify in the advert that it works on 240V.
