As long as you match the volts and amps on the phone with this adapter you will be fine. We had to replace a phone and it did not come with an adapter.If you have a newer switch that delivers power POE (power over ethernet) and a phone that accepts POE, you won't need this power adapter. Amazon has switches that are easy to install. For us it was just easier to get a new adapter.

We have an office that uses the Yealink SIP-T43U office IP phones and 3 of the desks get internet via a Non-Powered Ethernet switch so it does not provide POE. Bought these adapters to get power to the phones and they work perfectly now. Great item at a great cost.
