Reliable printer..the only think I would change is having to go thru the app to print, as a result you cant print just from the drop down menu on phone.

I bought this for my chromebook because in the description it stated that it was compatible with laptops. It was misleading.

My daughter was needing a new printer as she continues college, so I wanted to find one that was portable and didn't require cartridges or ink. A friend of mine suggested looking into thermal printers. After doing some research I found this thermal printer made by JOI MEW. From what I could discern this looked like a viable option. I ordered this and now that I have this home and operating- I am super impressed at the quality. It actually looks better than the printer I currently use. This supports paper size 8.5 x 11" US Letter size. Below, I will outline some of the features that stood out and why I ultimately choose this one over other similar ones on the market.*Design: Compact and portable- iOS & Android- Bluetooth - Inkless- Saves $ - Various thermal sizes - Battery supports printing up to 600 pages on one charge*Functionality: this works as intended. Do be sure to do the practice test. The quality is quite good. Definitely suits the need of my daughter for her studies.*Special Feature: Printer output is color*Dimensions for your reference: 10"D x 10"W x 5"H*Weight: 3.01 lbsAll in all, I find that this is an excellent thermal printer. I had no issue with connectivity - the instructions were clear and understandable. I find that they opted to use good grade materials, which should extend the longevity of other ones made with inferior material. Therefore, based on how happy my daughter is with her new thermal printer, I would be glad to recommend this to other consumers. I do appreciate your time reading my review. I hope it was informative and also helpful. :)

An important disclaimer: I ordered this printer without really understanding what a thermal printout would look like or how it's used. I wish I had, as I'll explain in the 4th paragraph. I only knew that I needed a printer and was primarily influenced to trying this model by a few factors: the size, the portability, and the image samples on this product page. I mostly wanted something for text, but images would also be important. Plus, no ink cartridges were involved.I wanted to use it with my Mac computer and Android phone. The Mac setup was fairly straightforward: download/install driver, set up the preferences, and connect to bluetooth; however, I was surprised to find that the USB connection was also needed for the printer to be "online". The Android, even after I downloaded an app that was used it to pair, the bluetooth connection kept instantly dropping. Whether this is my own humble user error or the software itself is TBD, but after many frustrating attempts to figure it out, I've given up for now. I'll update when I know for sure.A roll of thermal paper is included inside the printer, plus two extras, but I also ordered a box of thermal paper from Vine in case it was also needed. Letter-size thermal paper is a little pricey btw. Feeding the paper, per the instructions is also simple, but you need to make sure your paper is straight before closing the lid and locking it in place (no guides to help you with this). My first Mac test went smoothly, however, the bluetooth dropped after every print job. I have yet to figure this out, as well.As to why I wish now that I had taken the time to know what to expect. If I had, I wouldn't have ordered it, not because of the quality of the printer but because I don't have as much need for thermal printing in general. It's designed to be strictly for black and white printing, and any attempt to print a photo with its 256 grey tones will fail. I blame myself for being disappointed. This is more for printing up reference data and text . I'll still find ways to use it, but I may eventually gift it to whereever it's needed.I am knocking off a couple of stars for the pairing problems with the software. If I figure out how to get it all working normally, I'll update my rating/review.

Color : whiteSize : 8.5x11 inch (standard letter)Thermal printer connected via Bluetooth which I had no issues withThe apps to use these printers can be a bit of a pain and don't download on all devices so you'll want check if you have a compatible device befor purchaseOther than that it's a lot more affordable buying the thermal printer paper I perfer the sheets because even though the rolls are nice because you don't have to insert every print the papers print rolled up and you have to put in books to flatten them out if you want them flat after printingI've had no issues with the thermal printing as long as the picture isnt to complex or size off prints cleanYou just have to be good with black and white

I love how easy this is to use. It was easy to setup. It's small. You can print great images and you can print a fair amount with the ink cartridge.
