There are a lot of products out there for this type of work. I'm not looking to use this everyday but needed something specific for a job I was doing. The product worked great. I had one bolt I cross threaded but got another bolt from the store and made it work.

Finally got to use this after a year or so. It definitely took some trial and error. But it holds solid, nothing slipped or flexed. Did exactly what it's supposed to. I would suggest keeping some extra bolts with you for the part that clamps to the bar, and make sure everything is tight. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to try.

Ugly = 1st time using V clamp for U-bolt on one side split/cracked in half with very little force applied to nuts. Currently trying to figure out how to get this one piece replaced by seller without having to return the whole item.Bad = The steel square tubing that is the support for the bar clamps as well as the thickness adjustment indents easily when applying the necessary, clamping force to overcome movement due to the vibrations of the chainsaw/cutting. The smallest nuts and Phillips head bolts provide good clamping force on the end to end round pole alignment support however the nuts strip easily with the provided 8 mm wrench and I would’ve preferred something other than Phillips head as well.Good = almost all of the hardware seems to be much better quality than a previous chainsaw mill that I’ve used and all seems to be straight and aligns well. I like that there is plenty of room to get a socket onto coupling nuts when adjusting thickness of cut as another mill I’ve used did not have the same room. I also like the black handle stays put and does not slip off as well as has a hole on top for storing a tool. I also like to see that it seems the bar clamps provide straight alignment, and I also like the option of being able to drill the bar and bolt the clamp to the bar.

He tenido que sustituir dos tornillos de origen ya que se desafían al apretar, pero en general bien

The product arrived on time and was well packaged. The instructions were a little hanky but if you don’t rush easy enough to get through. I am going to have to get a bigger saw however because the one I currently have is 18 inches and once I have it mounted I only have a little over 11 inches of clearance for cutting, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on buying this. You will lose several inches of cutting length once this is attached to your saw.It seems easy to set up and went together well enough. I haven’t used it yet but plan to soon. Maybe I’ll update my review once I do. Seems like a good product for the price.Okay now that I’ve used it a couple times I will say that it works well. Only issue that I am seeing for now is where it mounts at the end of the bar tends to move a little and will get into your chain if you aren’t careful. One thing is I was probably pushing a little too much while using. A quick tip, if you can put one end of your log up on something, get your saw started and just let gravity and the saw get through the cut it goes much easier.

Review based on assembly as weather is currently prohibitive to use. Will update rating if something shows up during use. When I put it together, I used a carpenters set-square to make sure I get it all together square. I was able to get it tightened squarely along the chainsaw bar.The measurements maybe off. Set both measurement settings to 3" on the bar then measure the two distances from chainsaw teeth to aluminum guides and got 3 5/8". The good news is that both ends measured 3 5/8" so it was square. Not knowing milling, it could be that the 5/8" is added to allow room for planing, drying warp-age, etc, so that the final product can be exactly 3". If the measurement is intended to be exactly the depth you set, this it is off. If the measurement is intended to be 5/8" larger for processing, then it is smack on. I will manually measure and adjust anyways to ensure it is square and the correct depth before making important cuts.Feels very solid, no shearing and wibbling as I move it around. Feels like a single solid piece. As it is right now I see no reason this would not work well. It is square and looks as though the cut can be adjusted to be square also. Now the minor problems.- Instruction setup guide has tiny pictures you can hardly see- 1 missing washer, no big deal.- One of the screw holes in the cast, had burring inside which prevented bolt going into it, so just lightly drilled it out and perfect now.- One of the larger holes for the round support beam also had a little burring, so had to lightly file it out for the support bar to enter smoothly- The black plastic handle you hold would twist easy an pop off the metal tube. Wrapped electrical tape around the metal tube and now it is rock-solidMinor things aside, if this thing stays square during use, I should be able to get square wood out of it so for the price, if it holds up, this is a great little buy.

Purchased the 48 inch model, running a Husqvarna 390XP with a 24" and a 36" bar. The sawmill works well but keep in mind that it is a chainsaw so the boards will require much more planing than a bandsaw mill. Additional (optional) costs to use this thing were building a rail system ($35), all of the equipment to make my own ripping chains ($150), Additional handle for easier operation ($20). I would rate it higher if there was parts support for it.Out of the box...assembly wasn't hard but the only directions were the pictures so there were a few times I had to take it back apart, took about an hour total. Use caution on the bar sprocket end when clamping it, I fried a sprocket by not having the clamp centered on the sprocket rivets (you can replace the tip on most Husky bars fairly easily). Inspect the fasteners frequently for tightness, I had one vibrate loose and sawed part way through a clamp bolt. The 48 inch model with my large saw makes the whole setup heavy (#50lbs) and bulky. It would be rough if you have a bad back. The weight also makes it easy to cut crookedly if you aren't careful. With my setup it cut a large (30" diameter) red oak fairly easily once I learned to let the saw do the work, took about 5 minutes or less to cut a 2x20x8 foot long plank. It is not good for smaller logs due to the bulk, will probably get a smaller model for those. In summary....it will be a good buy for milling an occasional tree from the back yard but I'll probably buy a bandsaw mill when I start clearing my 10 acres of cedar. Of course for remote locations it is more than adequate.
