This podium is as advertised. It appears to be made of decent quality materials, although is a bit light and not sure how durable it is if you need to move it around a fair amount. It takes a bit to put together and the instructions are lacking, but pieces like this are pretty straightforward, so most people should be able to manage without too much extra stress/effort. I am using the wood for a different purpose (always the intent), but it appears to work well for the intended purpose. If I was using it as a lectern I would be disappointed in the "finishing" the hardware shows without much effort to hide it. If you are looking for something that is sleek you should probably shop elsewhere. There are no major concerns/issues.Rating System⭐️ 1 star= Disappointed. I don't recommend it at all, poor quality, or not as advertised.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars = Has some redeeming quality.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars = It's passable. My husband and I serve a small town church; he is the pastor and I am a liturgical organist as well as the tech person who facilitates the church’s use of social media and plans special events for the congregation. One of the things I plan each year is a “youth-led Christmas service” in which the youth take over presenting the Christmas message. This year’s program, for which the planning is already well-underway, requires a second lectern.We have a pulpit, but not a lectern as is common in many larger churches. We were going to construct one; my husband is a woodworker and certainly has the skills to do it. Then I saw this one! I ordered it and I’m pleased that I did. It took my husband about 45 minutes to put it together. He did not use the provided screwdriver, preferring one of his own longer shafted ones for the job. At first he thought he might use a power tool to put it together, which would have taken less time, but he thinks that given the type of wood it is, you could quickly strip the screws or the wood. This is constructed of particle board with a thin vinyl wood grain veneer. Once assembled, it is quite sturdy. The instructions were photos and were in English; I remark on this because with many things we have ordered that are made in a different country, the translations are very poor. This one is a very good translation. The included photos with this review show this lectern in the chancel area of our church. You can see its relative size to our standard-sized pulpit; it’s perfect for the kids. Could he have built one for less than the listed price of $89 if he’d made it from scratch? I’m sure he could have, but as the saying goes, “Time is Money” and it is worth it to be able to put together a quality piece of chancel furniture in less than an hour with no trip to the lumberyard for the wood and hardware, and then having to stain the unit!

I bought this for my class to help students when delivering speeches. However, I found that now we are getting into our debates and the old podium I had isn't working to well and my students love this instead. I am currently ordering another one. I even had to move this podium from my class to use for a faculty meeting and luckily it was light enough that 2 of us were able to move it. I love that it has shelves on the inside so people can store items that they may need, I wouldn't recommend putting your foot on it as that's definitely what it's not for. However, when it comes to putting notes or anything on the top, it really is great for that. This whole thing didn't take long to put together has really has come in handy a lot more times than I can count.

I host a weekly trivia night at a small gaming lounge, and have been using a table as a desk, but I've been looking for a better way to do things. I ordered this and I absolutely love it! It's super easy to assemble, comes with all of the screws that you'll need and a solid instruction manual, and the holes are pre-drilled. All you need is a screwdriver, and you'll have this thing assembled in 20 mins. Once you do, it's pretty durable, stands up well (no wobbling), and is surprisingly large! I'm 6'2" and I don't have to bend over to use the podium, and it's large enough to hold all of my trivia cards, note pages, and a drink too! And yet the whole thing is fairly lightweight, so I can schlep it along in my car, and store it in the garage when not hosting.One weird thing, have a wet rag ready. When I unpacked mine, it was COVERED in white dust. But a wet rag cleaned it all off really nicely, didn't harm the veneer, and it looks amazing. Thrilled to have this!

It took a while for this podium to actually arrive but I am glad that I ordered it. It is a bit heavy which is a good thing because it means it is sturdy. We assemble it, and it is a great podium to use for speaking, engagements whether it's for church services or giving lectures.
