I've spoken at many a lectern over the years (as a teacher, presenter, and narrative artist). For those on a budget, this is a solid choice. It goes together like a piece of IKEA furniture and I feel this is also a good comparison in terms of overall build quality and materials.It's fairly easy to assemble, though it does take a bit of time, so be sure to set an hour aside for putting this together. The height is perfect for me (I'm 5' 11") and the adjustable shelf is convenient for stowing away your bottle of water, tablet, remote, or note cards.The wood laminate is well done and projects the appearance of higher-end cabinetry. That said, it doesn't feel quite as solid as a more traditionally crafted lectern and it is unlikely to last as long either. in the end, it's down to what you are looking for, how much (and in what environments) you will use it, how often you will move it around, and how long you expect it to last. If, like me, you are seeking a podium for light, occasional use and aren't going to scrutinize it too closely, this is a great option at a very reasonable price.

Would give it a better rating however there were no round stickers to cover the cam locks. Had to purchase separately which delayed use. Directions left a bit to be desired. Okay value for the cost.

I ordered the Podium Stand for my husband to use when he teaches and it is perfect, just as it is pictured. The podium arrived quickly with assembly required; however all accessories, instructions and everything needed for assembly was included in the packaging. After my husband assembled it, the podium stood approximately 41" in height; and, at a width of approximately 24", a laptop as well as papers/pens/markers/notes can easily also be placed on it. The wooden podium is sturdy; has a nice oak woodgrain finish; made in a design that is easy to just wipe clean; and there is a shelf underneath that makes there be 2 areas or levels onto which other items can be placed. This is a very nice, very sturdy, woodgrain podium and I would rate it a 10 if I could, but I can and do easily rate it a 5+ out of 5.

This is a really nice wood podium. It is well made of good quality material but it takes a little longer to assemble than I expected, but NOT a deal breaker. Plus it is not expensive for what you get.Would recommend.

I'm using this solid wood podium stand for my personal use when hosting small events or parties. The podium took a little longer to assemble than expected. The material used in the design is good. I feel that the price is reasonable for the product I received.
