This is a great product and it's easy to use.The kids love how simple it is to use and easy to hold.Every day they are running around on constant treasure hunt outside, looking for bugs, leaves and flowers, inside the house we find crumbs and clothes to look at under it and its amazing.Having the option to add an SD card to save the pictures them makes it even more fun because then you can look at them on a computer.

For years, I have dabbled in coin collecting. I got this to supplement/replace my old-school optical magnifier I use to look at coins, and I am so impressed! It has excellent lighting with a choice of white, ultraviolet, or off (to look at self-lit things, like pixels on a screen). The clear ring sets the perfect distance when you set it down over an object, so no focusing is needed at all.The color TFT display on the top of the unit is bright and crisp with no lag at all. There are five magnification levels you can select with a button on the side: 1.0k, 1.8k, 2.6k, 3.4k, and 4.0k. A quick tap of the power button on the top snaps a photo that is stored on the included MicroSD card. The menu is so intuitive to navigate that I didn’t even have to read the included instructions to figure it all out. It is so easy to use that a child could easily operate it, and I’d say it is just as fun for adults! Also noteworthy is that this has USB Type-C charging, which is awesome, along with an included USB-C to USB-A cable. You will need to provide your own USB-A charger block, which is typical these days and absolutely fine—I have lots of those. You can also connect it to a computer to charge, of course. If you are looking for a cool and educational gift for a family member or want a nice super magnifier for yourself, this unit is well-made and gives very high-quality results. For the price, you can’t beat it, in my opinion!

A bit hard to remember what each button does but you quickly get over it with using it. I keep taking a lot of pictures when I'm not meaning to. (Good thing its not the old film days)Everything works like advertised It does zoom (I can only assume it is the level described) Picture is very clear both onscreen and after the picture has been taken. I didn't realize at first that you can choose between 2,3&5 megapixel resolution. And it is a very great looking picture that shows up onscreen. The handheld unit has a built in bezel so you can get to optimum focus distance. I would have preferred a focus mechanism myself because for me it gets too close to the object to be viewed.But... It was designed to be used by kids and it seems to be quite comfortable for my grandson, so for what it is, I think they did a great gob with the whole unit.I did received this product for “free” yes, but... the IRS does require that I pay federal income tax on the retail value of the product. In any case, this review is my honest opinion and completely independent from seller or manufacturer involvement.
