Lasts a long time, easy to charge with my original echo dot power supply. Fast to charge and easy to use.You just plug it up and it works. Nothing to it.Fits the echo dots, which I love and fits snug with 3 arms to hold it tightly. It is the same size and shape as the dot, so it looks great. The bottom has rubber like grip to it, so it won't slide around. There are lights on the front, to show the battery life, yes! Also, the power button on the front. The dot just sits on top for use as normal, doesn't block access to any buttons or ports, excellent design.This makes my echo dot portable, which is awesome, since I use my dot for a speaker and all sorts of tasks...This battery base also has an additional usb c port, so you can charge your phone or another device or speaker at the same time. This is a great battery/accessory for your echo dot, I highly recommend it!

Battery life is an issue with this product, but not for the reason you might imagine. It is simply too easy to tell Alexa to stop playing music and walk away... forgetting to turn off the base. Alexa will drain the battery even if no music is playing through the device because it needs to listen.I hope the makers of this product read this review and react. The simple addition of a timer to the product so that it would turn off after a set amount of time (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours ?) would greatly enhance the usefulness of the product.

Our daughter has a dot that she listens to music on all the time. She likes to bring it out in the back yard when she is in the pool or using her trampoline. This "PlusAcc Battery Base for dot 3rd - Portable Charger Stand" allows her to just snap her dot into the charger stand and have the mobility that she needs! It lasts a full day of her using it disconnected and she can plug it in at night so it is ready for the next day. It also has a USB C connection that you can use to charge your cell phone or other devices.Definitely recommended if you want wireless mobility with your dot device!

It powers the dot for about 4-5 hours of actual use playing music. If I left it idle it may last closer to the claimed 9 hrs but what's the use of that.

If you have a large house, you probably know how convenient having an Alexa Echo Dot in most every room to act as a voice activated intercom system can be. Of course you can always use your cell phone, but we find the Alexa system is far more convenient. There have been times when I was working outside and wished I had Alexa, so when I got the opportunity to evaluate this PlusAcc Alexa Dot 3 battery base, I thought that it was an answer to that wish. We have several generations of Dots and I was able to rename a 3 to “portable” and replaced it with an new 5. We have several WiFi repeaters so I was able to “drop in” from anywhere I tested it on the property. They claim it can power the Dot for 8 hours, which is longer than I will likely need it. If you have a similar situation or possibly would like to have Alexa available when you are out by the pool, then this PlusAcc Alexa Dot 3 battery base is a great solution. The instructions are generally clear but I did not see anything about leaving it plugged in all the time to use it normally and be able to unplug it at any time and be good to go. That is what I plan to do and I will see what happens.When I showed and explained this system to my wife, she jokingly suggested that they should make the system much smaller so she could wear it around her neck so she could be in constant communication, no matter where she is. I actually have a smart watch that has some Alexa features, but not “drop-in”. I actually think that she might have a good idea for a care giver or other similar applications. I know there are numerous systems that basically do that to some degree, but I don't know if any leverage off the Alexa platform. As my favorite blogger says,”Its just a thought”.

There are a few place within WiFi range without power. We use this when we go into the garage. Yes there are outlets... yes they are behind things. So being able to plop this down just about anywhere and have music is nice. Will we ever get the garage organized? Probably not. But while we're trying, it's good to have easy, potable music with a Alexa voice control.
