The smell in the dishwasher before doing them was atrocious. This product holds a lemony scent that helps cover the smell up. Bonus was to leave it in with your dishwashing preferences and it melts away.I know some reviews said it was hard to open or crumbled when trying to remove it. I found if you score the back and not try to push it out you get better results. It isn’t a hard pellet so that’s why it crushes. Be gentle!

I noticed this weird odor on my dishes after washing. Can’t really describe it. Went to YouTube and followed directions to take apart 20 year old Maytag dishwasher to clean filter. No odor for a few washes and then back again. I tried these Plinks and fabulous job; no stank. I do have to use them about every three washes. Cheaper than buying a new dishwasher that will probably last only 5 years. Highly recommend!
