I record our church service music on a professional grade Marantz cd recorder and as cd's are fading out of the digital picture it gets more difficult to find blanks that are of the same quality level they were 10 years ago. Sony and TDK made the best and don't anymore...at least I cannot find them. Anyway, the PLEXDISC cd's work perfectly with the recorder and the sound quality is really good. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

I have waited a while to write this review. To give these discs every chance that I could to redeem themselves. Every time I write a disc the same thing happens. The first two or three songs sound great then between songs 3 to 6 there starts to be a distortion like a static in every single song. It gets worse and worse until it stops reading the disc altogether. Then if you go to about song 14 or so the discs picks up again. Every single disc. I even tried not labeling the discs with magic marker thinking it might be bleeding through. Still the same issue. I'm currently using a Sony RCD W500C to record and I've tried both analog and digital inputs. I recorded a couple of CDs from another manufacturer and those recorded perfectly. Do not waste your time with this product.

I ordered cds that were for a digital audio vinyl to cd recorder from two different sources. They didn’t work. These ordered on my third try were perfect! I was able to accomplish my task of copying my old vinyls to cd and enjoy them once again!

I was going to write one of those "these deserve negative stars" reviews, but while I couldn't get these to work properly with several brands of stand-alone CD recorders, I was amazed to have success with a SONY RCD-W500C, one of the most troublesome recorders with disc compatibility. I had a near-miss with a Philips CDR 765, where the disc played on the recorder, and on a DVD player, but not on the SONY "Boombox" I use for test purposes; the recording played back with a lot of "noise." Even worse was a disc recorded on my Philips CDR 870, which didn't play on that machine nor on the DVD player without getting stuck. These problems seem to be caused by the dye having too narrow an acceptable range of burn power, since there were clear visual differences in the "music" area and that for the table of contents, which is recorded after a second OPC. A big surprise was failure of OPC on a TDK DA3826, a recorder that works with any of the standard "brands" of disc.Update, 1 August 2022: These discs sometimes work on one recorder but fail on another example of the same machine. The same discs are sold by HIDISC, see ASIN: B09W5KJBQD for their 100-pack. The disc that failed on the TDK worked fine in a nearly-identical Harman Kardon CDR2, and I've had the same issue with the HIDISCs.I'm not sure what dye is being used; Taiyo Yuden used Cyanine with their "music" CD-Rs, but certainly didn't rate the speed at 52X so it was likely a different formulation. The dye looks very much like the "Blue Azo" used on the Optical Quantum discs, another Vinpower/Optodisc brand, and one with which I've had erratic results on my old (Windows ME) computer, which seldom fails to give a proper burn, and works very well with CMC Pro discs, which also are claimed to use Taiyo Yuden's materials and processes. While I was happy to see "music" discs made with a different dye, from what I've seen so far I can't recommend the "TY Series" over other discs on the market for most stand-alone recorders. PlexDisc's "music" CD-Rs with the more-usual Mitsui dye also work with the SONY RCD-W500C, though with occasional failures due to "noisy playback" and these "TY Series" discs might be preferable on that recorder.
