The paint is so thin on the front of the unit, it started peeling and now just flakes off. It’s still functional but looks like crap.

Perfect for what we needed to upgrade and modernize our fireplace look after staining the brick white. Wasn’t horrible to install but wasn’t easy either.

I was having my fireplace refaced and need doors for a slightly odd sized opening and these were the perfect size. I was hesitant due to the low price, but decided to try them out. My carpenter installed them quickly and with no issues. They look good and function as needed. I have them over a gas fireplace, so they will not be exposed to very high heat…I’ll update this if anything changes, but right now I’d recommend them.

This is a very beautiful and quality set, but if you want to suspend it above the floor, then it’s requires some additional effort.Shown in the pictures:I bought some brackets and slightly modified them to fit an existing screw hole left and right of the included lower bar. This enables the door assembly to hang from the opening, i eventually screwed these down into the fire place opening, I also drilled a hole left and right into the fireplace sill, for the upper brackets to screw into, and won’t slip out.I’m very happy with the end result. I don’t have a fire pan yet, so can’t say how well they work with heat.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase but have not actually had a fire in the fireplace since installing it. The instructions provided were "ok" but I had to resort to YouTube for clarification on some points. This is not unusual for me with many of my do-it-yourself projects.I have not been able to get the glass doors set perfectly yet and as a result one door is very slightly out of position. Most people probably would not notice this and I will either just adjust to "less than perfect" or make a future attempt to fine tune the adjustment.The black looks great on our red brick fireplace front from the 1970's and I am glad I made this purchase and upgraded the look and function from our original low quality, plain white set of doors.I also learned that I should not have been burning wood with the old doors closed. I thought that this was the proper thing to do to keep any smoke out of the room and that the glass doors were intended to allow viewing of the fire. Turns out I was wrong and the doors are to remain open when the fireplace is in use.The screen provided with this unit is a solid screen that swings out like a door. I think that this will be a much better design than my old "chain mail" style that hung from a rod at the top of the door. I believe I will have much better protection from embers with this design.

Wow, I'm glad I got this! We refinished the tile on our 1940's fireplace. Someone put ugly 12" shiny tile over the original tile, so we replaced it with off-white, aged subway tile. I also found the original tiling on the hearth. I tried another style of screen before this one, but it just didn't work. This however is perfect. It sits flush to the tile against the fireplace. You can open the doors in an accordion fashion and still see the fire glowing. If you open the glass doors completely, the closed screen keeps the embers from popping out.The heat from the fireplace is excellent. We discovered that having this flush feature to the tile surface really helps warm the room. Our previous fireplace door had the hanging screen and glass doors and sat about 2 inches away from the tile...all that business kept the heat out. This is much more efficient.The other great feature is that I was able to assemble it like butter! If you lay everything out and actually read the instructions and study the diagram, you too can do it! I was impressed how well it is put together and the insulation is made perfectly - fits into the slots just right. Be patient, young grasshoppers!Anyway, I'm thrilled with the overall look. For whatever reason, it's like having an insert because of the way it's efficiently working now. I'm a happy camper this cold, cold winter. The ONLY downside is be careful when opening the screen...the little knobs get really hot, so if you expect that and don't hold on to the knob while opening, you won't whine because it wasn't made perfectly. I'd say version 2.0 just needs to put a hardier or alternative hardware for the screen door.

Was relative easy to install -would have helped to have two people in a couple of stages but I managed to do it alone. Took one hour.! Looks very nice and fit perfectly. Can recommend it!

These doors arrived well packed and complete. They do look great, and for the price, good quality. They were fairly easy to install, just make sure you purchase the correct size for your fireplace opening. We have the Small. I agree that it would be nice if you could keep the doors closed while fire is burning, but the glass would have to be tempered, which would increase the price significantly. So....all of you who are complaining about that, do your homework and purchase a product that has that feature....! We are very pleased with these doors..look sleek and modern...

Good product, nice matt black color, seems very good quality. Install was very straightforward and standard. One of the magnets on the doors was missing (door was still operating correctly) - but I contacted the company and they promptly sent me two. Magnet was very easy to replace as it is held by the small screw so no big deal. Very good replacement over the brass one.

This is a well made product and it looks great. I works perfectly in our fireplace at 1/2 the price of the expensive custom enclosures.Install Issues:The comments on the other reviews are mostly correct. They don't provide enough insulation with the product. One more insulation pack would be perfect. You get about 1/2 of what you need even if you split the precut sections.I ordered the small enclosure. This works with openings that are 22.5 to 29.5 high. If your opening is less than 24". it is a tricky install and the directions are not clear. My opening was 24" and it fit but it was a little tight. Anything lower would have been an issue. Other than those two issues, the product installed easily. It took me about 45 minutes to install.I think we made the right choice with this enclosure. It looks great it would have received a 5 if the fit was not so tight. I would recommend this product for fireplaces that are cinderblock like mine and 24" or higher.

This fireplace glass door is excellent. It fits the fireplace opening perfectly and make it possible to close off the fireplace as soon as we are finished with the fire. It is neat and clean and looks very handsome in our living room. The installation was simple and straightforward even though we have an unusual shaped lintel. Once you understand the concept of the clips, it went right in. I think the the quality of the door and frame is excellent and works very cleanly. They doors and frame form an very tight and good looking closure for fireplace. It was well worth the cost which, by the way was very reasonable. The cost of shipping was high but the discounted price on Amazon made up for the shipping cost. I would buy this fireplace door system again.
