But I'm not using it for plants. We have a puppy that isn't house broken, I use this under her indoor enclosure to protect the floor from ...a-hem...puddles. It works great! Easy to wipe up and waterproof. I do wish it weren't quite so shiny but not a deal breaker.

Have not used these yet, but they should do the job. Like the fact that “tools” were included, will be very helpful. Easy to store.

I decided to try this at my work because the one I have at home is very helpful in a variety of situations. This one was intended to help me with cleaning dirty computers and keeping my office fish tank assembly and cleaning sessions from making a big mess.After receiving the item and laying it out, I can say with certainty that I will NEVER use this for my computer work. Whatever the "Polyethylene (PE)" material is on this, it catches a static charge if you look at it sideways. I don't dare lay a computer or computer parts on it even just to blow out some dust. I will make it clear that is not in any way the manufacturer's fault. I did not look at what static rating the material had for this mat, so that was my fault.I will put it to good use for the fish tank, still, though. I can keep any drips from becoming an issue and protect my desk from accidental water splashes. I'm sure I'll find other uses in my office later that don't involve "static sensitive" situations, too.I miss the detail attention that went into the manufacture of a similar (green) mat I got that this white mat lacks. The edges on this mat are just cut straight and have no edging material to stiffen or reinforce the edges. Ironically, the picture included with the product shows a green mat with edging. The lack of edging means it loses the rigidity on the sides and it "flops" flat even with the snaps done up.The surface has a lot of little circular indentations for "texture". It is more pronounced on the "bottom" of the mat and the top part is more "smooth". I don't know if this is supposed to fulfill some purpose. If it is supposed to, I'm not sure what that is.This mat also holds any current fold lines more firmly than the other mat I have. This can make it awkward to get any liquid that does spill on it to go where you want it to. It may be able to smooth them out with a warmer temperature. I was initially using this in an air-conditioned area... so it didn't really get a chance to warm up and possibly smooth out the creases.Overall this mat feels very stiff and plastic-y to me. The green one I got previously gave me a more durable flexible vibe, and I would choose that one again over this one if presented with both to test in person, even though this one is a few inches wider.
