I bought a cheap radio with a big screen for my 1999 Mazda so I could see Google maps better. One of the problems with the cheap radio was alternator whine while listening to the radio or USB music. I bought 2 of these filters thinking I needed 1 for the radio's always on battery connection and one for the ignition switch connection, but just installing 1 on the battery wire fixed the problem. 😊

The ground wire was not soldered on one of the GLIs. I contacted the vendor asking for a replacement but did not get a response. I opened up the unit to resoldered the connection and I worked to eliminate alternator squeal.

I installed one on the battery line and one on the ignition that was powering a Pioneer receiver. The engine noise went away at first, then became intermittent, then failed completely after three months. Find another brand.

I was chasing alternator whining and static noise in my speakers. Quick elimination tries and pinpoint it was through the RCAs at the radio source. Been there done that with separate power and ground hook ups and nothing worked but got worse. This was a lifesaver and the elbow grease and open mind of how I hooked it up paid off dearly. Try different ways to hook it up with and w/o the ground wire. Mine worked when hooking it up in reverse of normal instructions and removed 90% of noise. I used a pac rca ground loop to completely kill the other 10%. I can hear the nobs of my tires on the road it's so quiet. I have a pioneer avh 8200 radio in a 2010 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin. Try all 4 different options to hook it up and it should definitely work. There's a YouTube video with the 4 different wiring options but it's for a different brand. Don't let the different brand name fool you as I almost did bcuz they all work the same way.

Old car getting new back up camera and touch screen audio, I could not get rid of alternator noise. The delivery was slow but worked. It shows red blue and black wires. Connected red and blue wire to my yellow ignition wire on the back of my car audio and black to ground. If you connect them to red wire on the red constant power wire, it does not work.

After installing an all new stereo system, it sounded perfectly clear until I started the engine. With the engine running there was a loud amount of noise - a whine sound that increased with RPM's as I revved the engine. With this thing installed behind the stereo head/receiver, that alternator noise is gone! I'm left with a very slight, steady static sound that I'm sure I could further diagnose if I wanted, but it's barely noticeable, so I'm done! As far as the installation goes, it was not exactly straightforward to me as a first timer and it took a little trial and error to get it right. I left the stereo ground connected to the in-dash ground, and I ran the ground (black) of this thing to the body of the truck, grounding it on its own (connected to longer wire to get it to the floor of my truck). Then the red wire of this thing connected to the power wire of the stereo (yellow, not the red) and the blue wire of this thing connected to the in-dash power wire (yellow, not the red). I left the red ignition wire of the stereo connected to the in-dash red wire.
