Does not sense anything. It is a piece of metal that goes in a circle. I do not recommend it to anything.

It barely picks up the probe in air just a few inches away. Totally useless under concrete. I tried on a cast iron pipe 8" below a concrete slab and on a pvc pipe behind drywall. It picked up nothing! Even tested in a spot that I knew exactly where the pipe was.. it still could not find the transmitter.

This thing would not read a cast iron pipe 4" in concrete. Maybe good for PVC and dirt.
