This is my first time EVER writing an Amazon review in 10+ years but felt it necessary to warn everyone about this terrible and dangerous productThe straps on this helmet dislodged immediately on the first use, I have never seen such a flimsy piece of safety equipment in my lifeI have lost all confidence in the PIP brand, and after bringing the helmet to my safety manager we will no longer be buying any PIP products. It’s absolutely disgusting that safety equipment with such poor quality control is being sold to the public.

Although we got this to wear for rock climbing, it actually provides industrial-level head protection and has exceeded our expectations. It is well-vented to keep your head from sweating as much and has Mips brain protection, an ABS shell, suspension fitting with a foam liner, and easy adjustment. It also has a multi-point chin strap instead of a simple strap. Highly recommended.

This is the multi-purpose helmet I've been looking for. I've tried several helmets over the last year, from hard hats to climbing helmets to snowboarding helmets, but haven't found the one that would meet my needs until now.I'm in my 60s and don't do any climbing or spelunking. But I do cut limbs from trees, climb on ladders, walk around in my attic, and hunker down for tornado warnings . . . all all activities that are safer with a helmet.Hard hats are fine for a lot of those activities, but they aren't ANSI II certified for lateral impact, and they tend to fall off or get knocked off if you fall (like from a ladder), or get whacked with something (like a tree limb). This helmet has an additional plus, in that it rotates a little bit so that instead of a glancing blow causing rotational force to your head or neck to be deflected. It's complicated, but the listing and the company website do a good job explaining. This helmet appears to come from an industry leader and looks to be very good quality. There's great adjustability and comfort, and the helmet is very lightweight and well vented to help me keep my cool. For the guy looking for a headlamp, just find a headlamp you like and strap it onto the helmet, using the little clips to hold the strap in place.

I recently started using the PIP Traverse Vented Industrial Climbing Helmet, priced around $110, during ladder work for camera installs. I’ll admit, I hope it never has to prove its worth, but I’m confident it will when the time comes. The fit is easy and pleasant, with a solid shell construction that feels dependable.Overall, this helmet offers excellent value for money, and it’s a piece of gear I’m glad to have on hand for those higher-risk tasks. An STG Synergies BTN Enterprises Review!

I think I prefer the comfort and easy on, easy off of just a standard construction helmet. I'm no helmet expert but this one just doesn't seem as comfortable as other helmets I've worn. The ratcheting adjustment in the back works great. I've worn the petzl vertex before and I think it is more comfortable. Your mileage may vary as everyone has a different head. Some helmets use styrofoam to absorb impacts and some have no foam and just straps. This one uses styrofoam. The padding/sweat bands are nice also. It also has good sized cutouts for earmuffs. I don't like how the chinstrap connects to the back of the helmet either. I've seen helmets where they meet in the center and some go through the band that holds the adjustment wheel. These came with the straps in front of the adjustment wheel which seemed like an odd placement so I moved them to behind the wheel. Overall this helmet isn't bad, it just is not the best fit for me.

I took this helmet up Lost River Peak in the Lost River Range in August. It was a great bit of peace of mind that I had it and was able to use it on the way up, and after I passed some climbers on the way down, knowing that any scree that was kicked down would at least not break my head. The helmet fit really well over my thin hat and it was nice and cozy. The fit was really nice - very easy to customize.

I occasionally like to go repelling for fun. I replaced my older helmet with this one and I have been really pleased. If you do any kind of climbing or repelling, not only it is a requirement a lot of times, but it is also just smart to wear one for safety. I luckily haven't had a fall that really tests the helmet, but it's worked fine for little bumps and scrapes. It has been comfortable and fits securely once I got it on and adjusted. It doesn't slide around. The helmet is vented so that helps a lot. I do sweat a little but no more than wearing a baseball hat. Overall, I'm happy with the protection and fit of the helmet.
