I greatly appreciate the smooth texture , durability , reasonable price and availability. It’s tough finding a good canvas for oil pastel paintings. These work extremely well allowing me to build layers. I can even use water soluble oil pastels and Neocolor 2 wax pastels with water.

This canvas has a very nice finish. Smoother than others I have tried. It helps the wc paint flow better.

Will not take any water based media. It will sit on the surface and bead off. Why is this called watercolor canvas????

I have not opened the package yet because it doesn't say that they are acid-free. I am debating whether or not I should return the product and wondering why I bought these. Also on the back there is no writing saying who made the canvas and the name of the artist and painting. So it seems not fine artist grade. If you buy this product, apparently wetting down the canvas is important. I am considering using these for gouache; that may not matter much, but it's something to keep in mind. Even aquabord needs to be wet down before using. The suggestions of using a watercolor ground is a good one. Using an acryla gouache or casein to tone would also do the same. Either would also help promote adhesion of the paint.

I love the smooth surface. It makes painting very easy. For watercolors, make sure to wet the canvas prior to painting. The price and shipping time is excellent, making it convenient to order from them.

I actually didn't know these canvases would be any good at all for watercolor paints..... Boy was I wrong! These are better to paint on then Arches watercolor block paper! The paint goes on the canvas with ease and looks beautiful when done. If I could give more than 5 stars: I would!

Watercolour paint just beads and rolls right off. Total waste of money.

Okay... I’ve now bought theses boards 3x’s now, not including the 3 more packs that I’ve just purchased. I think I have figured out how theses work!!!First, you cannot just start painting. If you do, they really do not accept the watercolor paint. You MUST wet the canvas/ board. I usually use two wet coats first, then, I do one more, and I can use it as a wet on wet technique. The board/ canvas works Great then!! But, as I said, must wet it first.
