Readings were accurate and consistent for a few days and then it started making up crazy numbers. I had read warnings in other reviews but thought that rinsing it after each use would help. Nope, this is made for single use and then you either dispose of it or return it.

Yes, it takes time to read the instructions and figure out what is what on this meter, but once you do, you will be glad you did. It works well and we are getting good readings on it (we used a pool company test to verify before trusting the readings). The results were right in line with the professional test results. That said, I have one complaint which is this item should come with the appropriate fluid to protect the probe itself. Found out after my purchase that I needed a solution to keep the sponge inside the cap moist and clean. This product should absolutely not be sold without this preservation fluid included. It cost me $15-19 dollars to purchase the fluid separately to preserve the probe so I bought a backup probe that came with 2 bottles of the preservation fluid for $19. It annoys me but the item itself works and I want to keep it so that was my choice.

The devise works but sadly it is not any better the test strips. Needs to be reconfigured for alkalinity and other test. Sadl had to send back. Also, you need to take a sample in a glass and test. Strips are better

This thing is fantastic. I love the simplicity of being able to check the salinity of the water with this tester! It makes it so easy and has been very accurate. I also like the quick function change to also check the ph! Way more accurate than test strips! Money well spent!

It is marketed as a multi digital reader for a salt water pool. It reads PH, but I have had to recalibrate it weekly, in the less than 60 days of using it. It also reads salt in percentage and ppm, as well as the current temp. This device is better suited to an aquarium, not a pool or spa. It does not read water hardness, free chlorine, which is what the salt generator does or calcium levels to retain the free chlorine. It’s not expensive, but it’s not better than the chemical test strips and having to repurchase base chemicals to recalibrate weekly makes it better suited as a supplemental tester for salt levels. Since it would be supplemental and not likely to be calibrated correctly, I wouldn’t recommend it for a supplemental reading for PH levels. It is easy to use and when calibrated, gives instant results.

This product comes pre-calibrated. It also comes with 6 PH calibration packages. It does not come with salt calibration solution. Ease to follow instructions for pools and hydroponics. Screen is very readable and easy to understand. Very easy to use. I use it primarily for PH and salinity testing of my pool.

I wanted something inexpensive to periodically validate that the salt in my pool was consistent with my salt cell readings and the pool store readings. This meter right out of the box and without any adjustments whatsoever gave a 100% accurate reading without any margin of error. I tested 6 different surface spots to ensure that it was consistent and it was. I can't say how long it will last but can't beat it for the money so I don't have to keep running back to pool store every week especially in this brutal, hot weather.

UPDATE:Vendor sent a new meter and temperature works much better. They tried a lot to want to make you happy. I found you can calibrate the EC part at ANY EC solution, which is the problem I had trying to follow the three EC calibration solutions. You can just calibrate it on a known solution near your target. Maybe I didn't understand the instructions. Check EC easily for my marine aquarium. Good Meter - get one!Original review:The Ph seems to hold after calibration for quite a while. The temperature is out off specs by 3deg F always. Salt readings should read 35ppt but reads about 27ppt. Other readings similar error. If I wanted a Ph meter only this would be ok as I have been using it for just over 30 days and past return date. I really wanted this to work and even contacted seller about out spec readings.Only good side is it is CONSISTANTLY WRONG so as long as you have a way to check the REAL values you can use it by comparing numbers. BUT can you trust it to stay that way. Read other reviews.Don't recommend this for aquarium use where these readings mean you tank is off enough to cause damage.YMMV.

I was looking for a tester for PH and Salt, too bad it does not also test for Alcalinity. Easy to use.

I'm a pool technician with 6 years of experience, every single one of my pools is a commercial pool that is salt water, so I use this meter at least 12 times a day, hasn't failed me yet. I love this thing for the price. All I did for the calibration was get some distilled water, put the meter in on ph mode, it came out to 7.01. adjusted it down to 7.00. so yeah it's already factory calibrated they just want to make sure that you know how to do it yourself because it does need recalibration every two to three months. In my experience the pH / salt has been accurate within 5% or so of what my drop test kit/Hayward salt systems read out
