I wanted this meter specifically to measure my TDS. I calibrated it. It calibrates perfect with the powder solution provided. But using for my pool was a different story. It showed my pool PH as 6.0 but with my Taylor test it wasn’t 7.8. I returned it because I highly doubt any of the other numbers are accurate either. I will stick with the tried & true drop tests

I started by comparing this device to Taylor reagent tests for calcium, carbonate alkalinity, cyanuric acid and free chlorine. I concluded that I needed to keep my pool at an LSI below 0.3 and ORP above 600mV. For my pool, an LSI of 0.3 corresponds to a pH of 8.0. I use this GISNPA electrochemical probe for daily measurements of ORP, pH and temperature. The pH measurement settles in a few seconds. Because of the cyanuric acid equilibrium, the ORP takes up to 10 minutes to settle before being readable. I can make ORP settle faster by using this probe to stir the test water until it climbs to a stable value and then stops changing. If the probe reads higher than pH 8.1, I add acid to the pool. If it reads lower than 600mV ORP, then I add liquid chlorine from the yellow jug. This is far easier, cheaper and more accurate for me than using drop tests or test strips. I highly recommend this product for pool owners. Note: I have a regular chlorine pool without a salt generator. For salt generators, I have read that dissolved H2 can distort the ORP readings.

Performed perfectly. Great accuracy, easy to read. Need better instructions.

Instructions included greatly lacked. Googled and worked my way through some - but still struggle. Can’t say if it’s accurate or not or even if it does all the things it says. If you already know how to use one of these and all the functions - awesome. If not, be prepared to spend way more time than you should finding the information you need just to work it. Seems like it does all the things, but who knows.

1. Very hard to read. Plastic face develops refractive shadows.2. Fine font identifying parameter impossible to read in sunlight.3. Why in hell would we want interpreted TDS, salinity, SG anyway? Just stick to SC, pH, T, ORP.4. Protective cap needs color or DIY piece of colored tape to remind one to remove it (we dummies might need to backtrack when we realize a reading shows we forgot to take it off!)5!! After one month's use, only SC function still works.
