We've had this for a year and a half with 0 issues. At one point, we had 3 dogs on it (with extra collars) successfully. The batteries last about a month, charging is quick, and the collars stand up to dirt and water. I'm really pleased with how well it's held up. It was very easy to train our dog on it because he had previously been trained to a regular shock collar - now he runs back inside the barrier as soon as he hears the beeps. Definitely recommend.

This PetSafe Stay & Play Compact Wireless Pet Fence has been a game-changer for us! The setup was incredibly simple and fast – I was honestly surprised how quickly we had it up and running. Even more impressive was how easily my Malinois learned the boundaries. It took very little training, and the warning beep is usually enough to keep him from crossing the line. He respects the system, and I have peace of mind knowing he's safe. One of the biggest reasons I love this system is its portability. We travel a lot, and it's so convenient to bring the Stay & Play with us. I just adjust the radius to fit the new space, and we're good to go. It's much better than trying to find a boarding kennel or worrying about him escaping in unfamiliar surroundings. And speaking of convenient, the rechargeable collar is fantastic! We've had this system for 3 years now, and a single charge still lasts for almost two months. It's incredibly reliable and saves us from constantly having to replace batteries. The only minor issue I encountered was related to power outages. The unit doesn't have a built-in battery backup, and when the power goes out, it triggers the collar as if the dog is out of range, resulting in a correction shock. To solve this, I purchased a UPS battery backup, which has completely solved the problem. It's a small additional expense, but well worth it for the peace of mind.Overall, I highly recommend the PetSafe Stay & Play Compact Wireless Pet Fence. It's easy to set up, portable, effective, and has kept my Malinois safe and contained. The incredibly long-lasting rechargeable collar is another huge plus. Just be sure to consider the power outage issue and invest in a UPS battery backup.

I love this unit. It works very well. My dog learned very quickly. Super easy to set up and worth its weight in gold if it keeps my pup safe. I purchased another console from someone online to add more range and it matched up perfectly.

I have a 16 lb King Charles spaniel. He was fully trained on this in a week. I was afraid to use this kind of a system because I was afraid it would hurt him but really wanted him to be able to run free in the yard. Started at level 1 setting on the collar, but he didn’t notice or respond until level 5. He ended up testing the boundaries a few times but quickly learned them and so far hasn’t tried to cross them again - even for a ball, butterfly or lightning bug. Love to see him running free and to be able to play fetch in the yard. Extremely happy with this system.

You've got to set it in the center of the yard without even a little bush in sight or it won't work behind it... So I've built a little bird box with an extension cord to it... Very pretty! It did it for a while but, today, less than 3 months later, stopped working without a warning. I almost lost my dog today, I live on a very busy and fast road... I am furious. Lost a lot of money with this. Complete GarbagePiece of crap part 2I bought a new collar... 200 bucks, because there's not really another good option for me, and the base got a critical failure a month later. I'm so pissed. So almost 700$ later I'll scrap this and I bought an inground wired fence from another company.Do not buy this garbage please.

This is my second unit. My first one quit working after a few years. Unfortunately, this replacement unit only lasted about four months and then quit working. Good news, I called the company and explained what was happening and they sent me out a new unit right away. Cannot say enough good about the Pet Safe Company. So I say yes, go ahead and purchase this product. They work great and the company stands behind their product. Very happy.

I've been using this product for over 2 months, and I trust it more than a physical barrier.Application:We have 2 dogs, one older, tougher, more passive dog and a younger, higher energy german shepherd. The younger one would take off and there's nothing we could do to stop her. She ripped tethers out of walls and tore the clip out of her harness. With a physical fence, she found a way over, under, or through. With the petsafe, she breeched once willfully, and after that, nothing. I leave them out most of the day, without any problems. I have 2 emitters set up, one inside and one outside in a weatherproof insulated box, overlapping in two areas.Pros:The collars rechargable batteries last very well, and neither dog has seemed to figure out that's what's causing their discomfort. The training manual is fairly simple and easy to read, and you should follow it to the letter, however it works better for simple yards than a more complicated one, in the simple yard the flags stand out and the training is easier, with other distractions they basically ignore the flags, and kind of figure it out as they go.It's easy to adjust the size, with 2 people at least.Cons:The price. We spent almost $1000, and although it is considerably cheaper than a regular fence, it's still a lot of money, if you think about it. The perception of security isn't as strong for other people (even though the dogs will absolutely not cross it), as a regular fence, but other people don't know that.Metal definitely messes with the signal, even away from the emitter, a metal shed set off the collars even though it should have been within the boundary, which isn't a big deal really, but good to know.Overall I'm happy with it, and if I want to expand the area its relatively easy. If anything changes in a year time I'll update this review.

So far so good with this product it took me at least 3 days to find the correct boundaries as it seemed to change each day. I unplugged the unit turned it on and off and I think that helped but I think I'm going to have to replace the flags at some point. So far it has only taken my bullmastiff four days to understand and learn his boundaries. I have had to turn the shock to number three because he wasn't respecting it at all at one or two within 3 days he's actually off the leash and doing quite well he's very smart and understands quick. Three weeks prior I purchased a scat mat to keep in contained in my kitchen and family room which has a little electric shock If he steps on it..it took him one time to respect that so I think that mat has helped with my outside wireless training. One thing that I didn't anticipate is the visual flags that are very flimsy don't go into frozen ground I had to use a screwdriver to make a hole to get the flags in the ground and they're still not in there very good, when I called The service number to ask a couple questions she explained that I can use anything for the visual however paying $300 for the unit I would expect better flags ....white doesn't really work when you're in the north east and you have snow and you're trying to train your dog at the same time it's hard....if I look outside right now the flags are not there ,they are covered in snow and the ones near the driveway and plowed in. So far he ran through the boundary probably twice and he kinda of stopped and ran back to safety area which I was happy about. I also live on a farm and at this point he runs out to a certain point and realizes he can't go any further as my horses and goats are staring at him from the other side of the fence which is pretty funny this is all within 5 days. I do believe that if he was running full force as he's a pretty big bully he would probably run right through the boundary so I am going to take a little bit of time so he understands what really will happen ( I know I have no patience to go thru the proper 2 weeks..that's my fault) I may have to increase the shock and then hopefully be able to bring it down to just a tone one day. We do have a large home so the circle circumference goes mostly my backyard and then towards a little part of my front area but the problem that I have is that some of that goes to the driveway and then into the very front of my house into the mulch which is kind of a pain so I'm hoping that he'll understand the boundaries there cause I think it will be very confusing for him if you get . It was easy to call the service number and get my questions answered the lady was very helpful. So far I'm pretty happy..I'll update in a couple weeks. It's not a crappy unit but it's wireless so some people have to understand wireless isn't perfect, but there was no way I was going to convience my husband to installed wired so this would be the next best thing..and hopefully in time I won't worry where my dog is wandering and he can enjoy the outdoor more without us constantly calling him back because were afraid he's running away.
