Well it works and the five foot range is kinda spotty, it may go off soon as they’re on top of it or may go off when they’re five feet away. The 8th setting is for a very stubborn dog to say the least, I tried it on myself first as that’s what’s I believe you should do to see what they have to put up with. My dogs respond very well to setting 2 let alone 8. The collar doesn’t warn if you set it to anything other than first setting. So your dog will be freaking out getting shocked until they figure out where the boundary is. I’m happy with the product but the inconsistency of where the collar goes off will eliminate quite a bit of yard they feel comfortable in.

Great buy! Total game changer. Easy to use took about 2 days to put in the ground. I have little ones so time outside was limited to install.

Recharge option is not worth it. Get the one with the red collar. The battery lasts long

It has worked great since install which was easy and straight forward. Had a little failure with the transmitter device and contacted customer service on their website. Within 5 minutes I had a case number and a new order. Should be here in 3-5 days. I am grateful for their prompt response and amazing customer service.

The fence works as it should, I’m not sure it stands out against any other fence, this is the only one I’ve used. I did have an issue where 6 months or so in, the transmitter stopped working. I reached out to petsafe directly by phone, was connected quickly to a human being located within the United States and they promptly issued me a warranty replacement. They didn’t even ask for my order number! Just a screenshot of my Amazon order and it was all seamless, a phone call, they texted me, I texted him a photo and within ten minutes the new unit was on his way. Outstanding customer service 10/10 would and will recommend. My phone rep. Was Isaac and he was great

We are on our third collar because two have simply quit working!! The green light on the collar continues to blink and the lights on the control box are both on so it looks like it's all systems go and yet our dog has been able to run away twice!! The company is cooperative in sending out replacements but is it just a matter of time before this collar also stops working! Don't buy this product!

This was the worst electronic dog fence I have ever purchased. It does not work. The collar does not produce a warning beep (as it claims) and goes straight to shock. The distance from the wire is terribly inconsistent, some areas the collar doesn't even register. I contacted PetSafe and they were very nice, they said it was a collar issue and sent me a new collar. The same thing. Even with the loop test the same thing. This product should not be on the market until it has perfected its kinks. My dog is now terribly confused about going outside. I have had various fence systems in the past that have worked beautifully. I am not a novice with these systems. This product has a very significant problem and needs to be removed from the shelves. It is disconcerting that they sell this considering what it can erratically do to our loved pets.

If you have a reasonable sized yard and don't mind putting in a day's work - buy this product! For $250 or less you're getting amazing value. I've had others in my neighborhood tell me they were quoted $4,000+ to have a company come in, install an in-ground fence, and train their dog... I essentially got the exact same thing at a fraction of the price. Also, PetSmart's customer service is second to none... honestly it's that good. My dog caught onto the fence within a week and it's been an absolute game changer. We both have freedom!
