This tool works great to keep mats from building up for our small ragdoll. I can efficiently brush the target areas quickly on my somewhat unwilling rascal.

The tool of tools if you have a long haired cat that gets a lot of mats in tight spaces (between front legs for example). So efficient and comfortable to hold, and gets rid of a lot of hair despite it's small size. Great quality and you should buy it

My 18 yr old cat has started to get really bad mats, she has medium hair length. Before, it was every so often and now it is every day. I tried using the cat comb, but I ended up just cutting out what I could, she did not like me combing her that much. I decided to buy pet fur conditioner and the Pet Mat remover. The conditioner really helped and what mats I was not able to get out with scissor and comb the Mat Remover was good at finishing the job. It doesn't pull like the regular comb and I don't worry about cutting her skin.

My cat has very long, fluffy hair that sheds a lot and gets tangled easily, especially behind his legs. It worked pretty well for removing excess fur and relatively well for removing small-ish knots. I would not use it on large knots because it pulls too much on his skin. If you use it, be careful of pulling on tangles too hard, and I did notice that it got caught in a spot where loose hair had built up (even though this spot wasn’t knotted). My cat likes how it feels to be brushed with it on his back, though he is less enthusiastic about being brushed elsewhere (which is generally true of most brushes for him). Overall, I’m pretty happy with using this as a tool to keep my cat’s large amount of shedding under control and helping maintain his coat health.

Omg, this is good for around the ears. Where have you been all my life!!! If you have a dog, you need this as much as you need food, water and vet care. So easy to keep doggies tangled free with this. Pair this with that mini sickle cutter and the bigger brush with these multiple sickles and your dog will be very happy. Thanks Amazon for making it easy to know what and how to care for dog! 25 year dog owner... and still learning. ❤️

Quita muy bien el exceso de pelo y ayuda a desenredar los nudos de mi gatito Ragdoll pelo largo...si se tiene un nudo grande es mejor deshacerlo poco a poco para poder usar el cepillo y evitar que salga corriendo.

I tried an electric shaver for cats that had great reviews. Didn't fully work. It removed most of the problem areas but on her worst area it only removed the surface hair and it stopped shaving once it was into the thick of it. 🫤 so I purchased this, and did alittle every day. She has sensitive hips, so I was only able to work through alittle at a time each day. It did work the best. It will remove those tuff knots. I worked at a animal hospital for years. And I used this on my elderly cat and we were able to remove all her winter knotted fur. She looks like a homeless kitty atm. Due to the electric razor but she's much happier now without all that hot knotted tight fur on her. I would suggest on long hair animals, keeping up with it, with a strong metal comb the using this product for any knots that form. My cat loves to be combed. This product is great quality. Great size. And WORKS.

I think this would work great for very large mats but it doesn't seem to work for small mats. At least it doesn't for my small dog.

Was hopeful after reading other reviews that this might just be the answer for helping me deal with my cat's matts. I have a handsome, but skittish rescue tuxedo cat with medium length fur, who tends to get matts near his tail and on his fluffy back legs. Been a nightmare trying to get rid of them as he runs almost as soon as i start touching them. Worked him up to getting used to this brush by grooming him on his back and sides using short brushes (which he seems to enjoy). Then today i approached one of his matts whilst we were snuggling and in under 10 secs the matt was out! He didn't flinch. Success!

From the instant I used the tool, I was impressed. Cuts through mats like butter. I have groomed sheepdogs and shih tzus for years (but it would work for any breed vog dog or cat) I am left handed and this tool works naturally for me. The rounded tips protect my dog. If a mat is larger, I can use this tool to start near the edges and work down towards the skin without discomfort to my dog (tip: hold the base of the mat and skin so you don't pull the hair). The only improvement I would make is to put tiny sarations on the blades. But I still give this product 👍👍👍👍👍

Okay now THAT’S a fur removal tool! Furminator might as well retire. It’s never beating this thing. Lily, the fluff ball on the left there, hates the Furminator. She’s not delighted with this either but she gets only mildly irritated, not distressed the way she gets with Furminator. The tool works best if you use short raking strokes and work section by section rather than long strokes from front end to back end, & wow is it effective when you do. If you hook gently under a mat & kind of scratch at the hair, the mat comes away easily, too, without pulling the cat’s skin. The cat has to be pointing the right way because the tool isn’t ambidextrous, but that’s just a point worth noting, not a criticism. Pointless on short hair cats but get it if you have a fluff ball. UPDATE: it’s not pointless at all on short hair cats, as it turns out. Just not as dramatic :-)
