note - this item does not work well on smooth upholstery and can grab more delicate fabrics. you get a feel for it quickly though. the videos you've seen are accurate - you can quickly clean embedded pet hair from fluffy upholstery, throws, sofas, chairs, pillows...should last forever, no moving parts! best cleaning tool i've invested in and so simple it should last forever.

It worked much easier on my stairs. My dogs incessantly bark and want to bite the vacuum when it’s on so this tool was much more pleasant to use and it really pulled the hair out. Unfortunately after using after maybe 3-4 times it came apart. Not sure if I’ll buy again.

I am editing my review to reflect changes made by the company. Thiis product is now available with a long handle (broom handle length). This removes any objections I had to the product. It works beautifullly, Anyone who has owned a 'Retriever' breed of dog, from Labrador to Golden, can attest to the monumental shedding abilities of those breeds. Cockers and Collies, too. I have a large yellow Labrador who loves to tear around the house, roll on the carpet and perform other shed-inducing activities. As a result, the 8 x 10 rug in the living room has a sort of pale miasma that dulls the colors. (Yellow Lab fur has that effect on colors.)I read about the Uproot cleaner on one of my frequent forays into Amazon, and was delighted at the description of the gizmo and the desription of its effectiveness of its operation. How could anyone go wrong? I ordered one and waited eagerly for its arrival.The size of the box was a little surprising (well... a LOT surprising) but I thought the the thing would work OK on a long stick. But it did not come with a log stick.So I bent double and began running the teeth of the Pet Hair Remover over my rug. Since the business end of the hair remover is about 6 inches wide, and the handle fits my fist, it did not seem to be likely that I would de-fur my 8 x 10 living room rug in under 90 minutes. (-This is not allowing for the time it would take to sit back on my heels - since I would be crawling around on all fours - to sit back and stretch my back)I will admit that the three square feet that I cleared were definitely clear of Lab Hair by the time I was finished. I decided, though in view of the time involved, that I would be wise to come up 2with another way to clean my dog's fur off the carpet.This does work well on smaller pieces (like chair seats and wing chairs). But to de-hair a large rug, I would suggest the vigorious application fo a push broom followed by a powerful vacuunm cleaner.

It arrived; It performed; It broke.I cannot express to you my enthusiasms when this cleaning stick arrived. I was finally able to pull all the pet hair up that I had been staring at for over 2 years. What the vacuum cant do, this little guy can! German Shepard hair? No problem. Golden retriever hair? No problem. Human hair? No Problem!!!I started to physically video myself combing up the hair. Easy to remove, so satisfying to pull up. Piles, piles, everywhere! Quite the joy.But then..., I hear a crack! Just as I'm finishing a middle step, the handle breaks. Not off entirely, just a slip with the glue holding the handle cover on. It's too hard to to grip!I tried. Tried and tried. Slip after slip. Pure disappointment. I kept going, but only for the sake of finishing. I couldn't just leave all the pieces there! So I did my wifely duties, and I finished the job. The performance was poor, but I was glad to complete the task. Next time, I'll hunt down a better stick. Medeocr will get you through, but not provide much repetition. Until next time!

I was skeptical that this would pull out the dog fur on my floor mats, but I was so very wrong. I have searched, purchased vacuums, among other "ideas", to no avail. This pulled out ALL of the pet hair (and my dog has long hair) from my floor mats with the greatest of ease. Do yourself a favor and get it if you battle fur on carpets, etc!!! I will be getting more when I can for sure!

This did not work like the videos and pictures showed. I tried it on my furniture and blankets. Did not remove the hair and it snagged the fabrics. Tried it on the dogs and got no hair off.
