This module did NOT come with the silicone as the picture indicates. It was only the module and nothing else. Have grease on hand or purchase somewhere else.

Most aftermarket modules are garbage. These are supposed to be better. They claim that they are tested twice before leaving the factory. Mine works good after going through 2 junk brand new replacements from the other brands.

Intro says it all. Had to purchase the Delphi modile which was correct but it wouldn't allow install with 5.5 mm socket I had to get the special ignition wrench as the holes for the screws were too small for the socket.

Customers who gave negative reviews most likely bought the wrong TFI module. Ford used 2 different TFI modules which vary from 89-96. The only way to really know which one you have is check the TFI connecter. If there is a Red/Blu wire going to pin #4 then this module is not for you. This module is CCD (computer controlled dwell) and pin #4 on TFI goes directly to pin #4 on the EEC IV. There is also no ignition suppression resistor wired in the coil negative circuit. I called the manufacturer to confirm this is CCD. It worked for my application. TFI modules are tricky you have to make sure you get the right one. All the problems the other reviews described are what happen when the wrong TFI is installed. The unit is not dysfunctional.

This module caused a rough idle and would "cut out" for no apparent reason (sometimes while idling sometimes on the freeway). A "Ford God" local mechanic was kind enough to help me trouble shoot this issue. After one ride along he felt it cut out and suggested that I replace the TFI module. I purchased the ACCEL 35369 Ignition Control Module and after it was installed problem vanished.I don't know how well this unit stands up to the heat of being installed in the dizzy as I installed TFI relocation kit and moved the TFI to the fender. Simple mod that helps keep the TFI from failing due to heat.Found the accel part on line for $40 and free shipping! The Accel 35369 is for automatic trans and the 35368 is for manual trans, according to the research I did.Bottom line is that this unit, for whatever reason, did not function correctly.

Purchased this product for my 1988 Ford Ranger; original TFI module cease to function. I have purchased Pertronix products and have had positive results. However, this time the Pertroix module when received was dysfunctional. I sent the purchased unit back to Pertronix and received another unit while under warranty. I continued to have problems with the new unit, could not get it to operate properly. At this point, it was necessary to buy an additional unit from NAPA to get vehicle running. In defense of Pertronix, I did not bother to continue in trying to warranty the second unit. I took the loss and moved on. Time was a factor and I did not wish to hassle with the back and forth process of warranting a product via the mail system. As I mentioned earlier, I have had good fortune with this company and their products, unfortunately, not this time. I gave the product two stars due to Pertronix's reasonable response time in dealing with warranting of the defective product. To rate the product in relation to functionality, there would be no stars.

Apparently this unit is for the 6 cyclinder engine. The description claimed it was for the 302 EFI. Amazon won't allow me to return this unit. The unit isn't sealed completely, large gaps in the plastic side cover. Kind of scary considering it's electronic.
