I haven't run this yet, however during the installation there was a hardware issue.If you have a distributor with the octane adjustment knob, the mounting hardware for the unit is a bit too long, needs to be trimmed down a little so that the adjuster can move.A little thread lock liquid for the mounting screws would be nice.The magnet part that fits on the shaft seems to have a loose fit in my opinion. Whether or not that affects function, I do not know yet.

I live in the Caribbean and drive a 83 Toyota FJ40. For many years it was a daily driver, but now it my weekend adventure machine. I've been doing some upgrades on it and had seen an article about upgrading the ignition on a LandCruiser. It was full of praises about the Pertronix 1665A that you replace your points with. I immediately ordered one thinking that not having to worry about points again would be the best thing since sliced bread ( This was Nov 16 2015). It was a very easy installation and it worked fantastic until it all of a sudden it died after about 100 miles. I tried to contact Petronix via Amazon.....no answer. I tried the tech department on their web site...no answer. All I wanted to know is if I had done anything wrong or ordered the wrong module. After doing my own research around the net I found out that my year FJ40 should have used the Pertronix 1662. Thinking now that it was my fault and I had ordered the wrong part , I order the 1662 (May 25, 2016). I did not get around to install ing it till mid July, and just like the first time all went well and it was working great..........till last Saturday, It died AGAIN. Thanks to the guy who in his review said that he always keeps all the parts to replace the points in his glove box " just in case", you were a life saver. Problem was fixed in about 15 min. This one did not even last 50 miles. Needless to say Pertronix will never see my money again.
