Used per directions on a motorcycle alternator cover gasket that was hard to get off. Absolutely no effect!

If for some reason you have to remove a cylinder head, use this stuff to clean the tops of you pistons. I also worked very well to remove gunk from E46 M3 rocker arm shafts before trying to setting valve lash. Note: this stuff only works if you buy it while its still in-date, after 2 years it will turn into a liquid and not work at all. The product must foam-up while applying and if its in-date (lees than 2 years old) it will foam up. Look on the internet to de-code the Permatex expiration code stamped on Permatex products.

Worked great at taking of (liquifying) Permatex High Tack Sealant. The problem is this bottle seemed short-filled maybe. Only made it to taking the High Tack off 1 head. And that was 1 spray across the top of the head and let it drip down. So 1 line across, maybe 18”. Kinda sad being it’s supposedly 4oz, and for the price. Still happy with the results.

I used this to get gasket sealant off some metal parts. This is the only thing I found to work and it works really well.

Removed 27 year old MLS head gasket residue from an iron block with ease. You need to let it sit! I forgot about it and let it sit for about 4 hours and I basically wiped away the old head gasket.Won’t turn your head shiny, and areas are still going to be permanently stained from the old gasket, but it’s smooth again and my fingernail doesn’t catch on anything.

I used 5 cans to do the 2 head gaskets and front timing cover while doing a DOD delete on my L86.Its a little expensive and you go through it fast but wow it works so much better than brake cleaner. It melts the head gasket sealing material right off, Requires almost no scrapping after you let it sit. Avoiding scrapping helps avoid possible damage to the mating surfaces but also makes clean up easier. I just shop vacd it right off and it was like new.

Just got done using this to remove gaskets on aluminum crankcase and clutch covers on a 1985 Honda shadow. I followed the direction and let it soak in for 30-45 mins and tried using my plastic scrapers but no luck. Tried using a box knife blade and the gasket is still stuck pretty good tried to apply a second coat but it was pretty much empty after the first pass and it wasn’t really a big area. I will say it did soften up a little but not as advertised. Now I know this gasket remover isn’t gonna make gaskets fall off(even tho it would be nice if would) but I was expecting more. So would I buy this product again? NO but again I’m probably working with 30+ year old gaskets so if your gasket is a little newer it might be worth a try but this was my experience. I guess I will just carefully use a box knife blade like usual and some acetone until I find the holy grail of gasket removers
