New hydraulic lines on my old loader tractor, the farm store chinesium fittings would never seal. Tried Teflon tape, and then pipe compound, both coupled with multiple ugga duggas. Still a steady drip from one fitting of a drop every 5-10 seconds when operating, with the other line weeping.I invested in this and the spray cleaner/primer as a last resort. Cleaning the fittings and lines was a chore, but I got it done. On reassembly, I deliberately only used about a half of an ugga dugga while tightening, as that's all it should require. Let it sit 24 hours, and no leaks, no seepage, no nothing. Yeah it's a little expensive, but it works. I can't say if the results would be as good without the spray cleaner and primer, so I'd recommend you use that also for a good repair.

building a old car with wilwood brakes, with NPT threads I used my teflon paste and tape wrap and didn't work like they did on nitrous fittings, [could be the 20 year old materials] just saying, all four calipers seeped out of the threads, resealed all with this stuff I am happy works great

Was replacing all the hydraulic hoses “14“ on a 55 year-old tractor about four hoses would not stop seeping hydraulic fluid. I cleaned them off and put this thread sealer on and everything is dry now super impressed.

Item arrived leaking…. Not impressed to have a leaking container of this kind of product, after paying $35 plus delivery fees! How much of my $35 thread sealant has been leaked out? Is the remainder comprised?I am far from satisfied!

This stuff is really worth the money if you need it. Then you will use it on every threaded fitting. I initially bought this since it was movable & non contaminating for speed bleeders on my car and race bike and it seals so effortlessly I've used it on every air compressor fitting and tool including HVLP paint gun fittings, boat fuel water separator fittings, every pressure washer fitting, hose and gun/wand. If you let it cure for a few days its ability to take apart and reseal without re applying is better but its not necessary. Have used it 5 minutes after application at 3000+ psi. The "other" brand makes a comparable product as well. Prices will vary from $22 to $32 for either. Any of the less expensive sealers that have similar descriptions are not close in actual performance. Shake before use. Great at reducing foul language when working with threaded fittings.

UPDATE 9-2024 This stuff is the way I seal ALL threaded air and hydraulic couplings now and they don't sit there and hisssssss anymore. On the recommendation of Chucke2009 on YouTube. I got it for installing a seal in the front timing cover of a Cummins engine but it has multiple uses. Once you use this you will throw away all those stupid rolls of teflon tape you have kicking around. Yes it looks expensive but you only use a few drops and the satisfaction you will get from not having to do the job over is way worth the cost. Keep an eye on the bottle, they are small and have been known to walk away once your friends and co workers see it.

I purchased this along with the Surface Prep. I had a weeping brake fitting on an antique truck that could not be purchased new. A thorough cleaning and treatment with the Permatex products seems to have remedied this seeping.
