Your cart is empty.Permatex Anaerobic Flange Sealant is a flexible, gasketing material for use on rigid machined flanges with less than a .015 inch gap. Designed to cure in the absence of air, this flange sealant eliminates preformed, pre-cut, paper, rubber and cork gaskets. Original Equipment Manufacurer (OEM) approved – use where OE’s specify 'anaerobic' gasket. Flexes with flanges that move in service and withstands temperatures to 300 degrees fahrenheit. Suggested applications include water pumps, thermostat housings, transmission pans, transmission case covers, transaxle casings, engine cases, timing covers, and o-ring replacement.

Used on a 1991 4runner v6 4x4 trransmission. This was a great sealer to use on the transmission fromt bearing retainer. I was skeptical about using this recommended product since it is very liquidy. Any excess that flows with the transmission oil into the transmission will not damage the transmission. RTV Silicone gasket maker will damage your transmission if any excess does flow with trany oil.

Make sure you get the activator in the spray can with this to achieve best metal to metal joint seal. I sealed a 4WD NP306 transfer case beautifully.

This works great as a bed plate sealant for Dodge 2.0L engines. I used this on an engine rebuild and it sealed up nice. No leaks and it does not prevent proper clearance for the main bearings.

For heavy flanges this is what you want. No idea why all these builders and shops are using so much silicone, especially around oil passages. Use this for professional results without the risk of engine failure.

We use this sealant extensively in our tractor repair shop where a flexible sealant is required. It is the best sealant that we have found and we have tried many different ones. It stays flexible and doesn't dry out if it is several hours afteryou apply it until you put the parts together. Great product.
