Bottom line...For roughly $200, I would have expected much, much better. I scratch my head after reading all the 5-star reviews here. The workmanship and materials are really indistinguishable from anything you might expect from China at half the price.(1) Pneumatic cylinder design flawThe seat (on this "desk height" model) rattles and wobbles somewhere around 1/2"—3/4" off-axis when the height is fully extended. A quality chair would provide solid unwavering pneumatics at any height adjustment.(2) Upholstery(a) Foam is so soft that it depresses a full 1.5+ inches. I am not a heavy person @ only 165 lbs—but sitting near the edge of the chair causes a struggle to keep from sliding off—unstable like a waterbed. Every slight shift is exaggerated, causing your hips to tilt off-axis, therefore causing undue strain on your hips, back, and therefore an unhealthy scenario for your entire body; (b) Shoddy workmanship and assembly. Check the photo showing the roughshod stapling, irregular cuts, and bulging non-taut vinyl. Did a drunken person cut and staple the vinyl?(3) Backrest support bar different than product photosBack bar in the product photos looks like either a flexible bar, or covered with a rubberized accordion type sleeve. What I received instead was simply black bent band iron. Not a deal-breaker, but compare the photos I've provided vs. the product shots by Perch.(4) Zero customer serviceFollowing my order, I received an uplifting message from the Perch company: "PLEASE let me know if you have any questions or concerns, as your satisfaction is our #1 priority. For example, if it arrives missing a part or anything is damaged, DO NOT RETURN IT, but let us know, and we will work tirelessly to make things right."Actually... not. Have received zero effort from Perch to make anything right, despite multiple email exchanges. Phone number? Nope. Neither listed on their product, nor invoice, nor packing slip, nor email. The Perch company is doing their absolute best to avoid contact let alone making anything right. Perch company will not speak with you, even though (they say) they are located in Colorado. I wonder if that's true.On the plus side...(1) The seat is amply large.(2) The base is solid, yet lightweight.Want to return this chair, but now that's assembled, and parts are stuck in place by pressure, there is no apparent way to disassemble. Perch isn't providing any instructions on how to do so—and, in fact Perch has been completely unresponsive. 12-year warranty? How will that work if Perch is unwilling to make good on a new purchase?

Since much of my work is at home now, I needed a sturdy, comfortable chair at my desk. I like that it can be adjusted a little higher than a normal desk since my desk is built in and a bit high. The bottoms of the legs are very stable and have wide floor protectors, so it doesn't hurt the tile floor.
