The Twist-Erase family of mechanical pencils continues the tradition, offering a diverse selection of features tailored to meet the needs of consumers.

Twist-Erase III, Twist-Erase Express and Twist-Erase Click all feature a protective tip that stabilizes lead to reduce lead breakage.

Variety of Diameters

Variety of Diameters

Twist-Erase mechanical pencils are available in various diameters from 0.5mm up to 0.9mm (depending on model). Here are some guidelines to help you select the right diameter for you. Keep in mind that you can't put 0.7mm lead in a 0.5mm pencil or vice versa, so it's important that you choose the right pencil for your needs.

This 6-pack with extra lead and erasers is an extremely great value. These pencils are the best. Plently of screw-top top-quality eraser. A little tricky to load lead sometimes but always doable. Only pencil I will ever purchase.

these mechanical pencils are going to be the very reason I switch back from using a pen. This is the most intelligently designed mechanical pencils I have ever seen. I use drafting pencils quite often and for general note taking I use various pens. However, now, after having used these for the first time I can't seem to put them down. the easiest graphite refill I've ever seen as well as the smartest use of an eraser ever. This easily takes the cake for me. writing ability as well as form, functionality and comfort are at an all-time high with these mech pencils. whether you draw, notate, engineer, draft, sketch or whatever else may occupy your time. I cannot recommend these highly enough.

The pencils have a side pump lead extender. The tip tube where lead is ejected stays extended. The lead is soft and very dark. The clip is metal and seems like it will last a while. You get an assortment of pencil colors which are colors I enjoy. There are extra erasers and extra lead. Overall it's a good value.

Love the Pentel brand. Great pencils with refill erasers & leads. Need multipack because I keep losing them. Only took off a star because the packaging is a nightmare. Even with sharp scissors, had to fight to get the pieces out. Cost more, but worth the price.

My best investment in terms of school stationary. Loved the design of clicking from the front instead of top to bring out the lead

Both my husband and I like these pencils for puzzles. The lead doesn't seem to break in the .07mm pens. This eliminates frustration and also makes the leads last longer. It comes with six pens in several color choices in the package and with extra erasers and leads. These pencils should last a long time and see us through many puzzles before we may need more. I like the fact that the erasers are adjusted with just a twist of the pen. They are easy to use, easy to refill, and the lead is dark enough for easy reading. I have always used the .05mm pencils because they are usually thinner for small hands, but I find no difficulty using these. They are not that much larger to hold on to and the push-mechanism near the point for forwarding the lead is easy to reach and use.

Have been buying these for quite a few years - they are so well made - and a must have - even take on holiday with us - great for SUDOKA and the built in eraser comes in handy.

If you are in the market for affordable, reliable mechanical pencils, then you should consider these Pentel mechanical pencils. I have two children in middle school, and they needed reliable pencils. They tried other brands last year, and they just did not last. I am surprised how well these mechanical pencils have held up so well to daily use by my children.Another good thing about these mechanical pencils are they are comfortable to use. My son grips his pencils really tight and writes very hard. With other brands of mechanical pencils, he would get red spots and sores on his hand. With these Pentels, he does not get red spots or sores. If you are in the market for good mechanical pencils, you should strongly consider these Pentels.

These are the best mechanical pencils. Great grip, just pay close attention to them or they will get stolen.

I've been using an older but very similar model, the SIDE FX (above) since probably 2011; still do use it but found this slimmer model (below) appealing. Quality of this style seems just as good as my old workhorse.I'm pleased Pentel has continued producing the long exchangeable erasers for all this time. Just one lasts much longer than any conventional built-in eraser I've ever seen, and it's convenient for me to have a stock of cross-compatible replacements ready to go. Extending the eraser on the SIDE FX by twisting the top section has a sort of bumpy ratcheting feel to it, which has smoothed out a bit on mine but is still present. In this slimmer model, extending the eraser feels very smooth and gives slightly more control over your eraser length (I think this was a good change).Graphite capacity is pretty average for a mechanical pencil, but for me that's more than enough. The button located on the grip for dispensing graphite feels much more natural to use than the standard click-in eraser mechanism seen on most mechanical pencils. Personally I like the textured button that goes on the SIDE FX a little better, but this smoother style one is perfectly good. *The buttons are not cross-compatible; different dimensions.-Side note: Pentel sells another model with the same erasers but a different click mechanism, where the entire top of the pencil is pushed down to dispense graphite. Similar concept to how standard mechanical pencils work; a little better in my opinion but not my style.I like the rubber grip on this new one. Much slimmer than the SIDE FX grip, and has no play to it because it's fixed to the body of the pencil. On the SIDE FX, the grip is just a tube that can slip on and off when you screw off the tip of the pencil. While having the ability to easily exchange grips seems nice, having the grip as a separate free-floating piece allows it to wiggle around more and more as the rubber wears. If the grip was perfectly cylindrical that wouldn't be as annoying but the SIDE FX has a hexagonal grip, so when it spins around it really messes up your grip angle. Fixing the grip to the pencil body and slimming it down was a great decision by Pentel in my opinion. Some advice that might help one or two buyers:The metal tip of these pencils is held in by friction. If for some reason you press down really hard on the actual metal, it will get pushed into the pencil and it will stop working properly. You can fix this by unscrewing the end, carefully removing the clear rubber bit inside the tip that helps control the graphite stick (do not lose this piece), and pushing an eyeglass screwdriver or something similarly long and thin into the bottom of the plastic tip. The metal piece should come back out easily. Place the smaller end of that clear rubber piece into the tip section and screw it back together. Me being a dumb kid at the time, I tried to use the metal tip to scrape my name into a piece of hard wood and got stuck in this situation. Not something I expect many of you to deal with.
