Bought this for my brother, really smooths. Great for shading. Does not break so easily. Last for ever

I like the small size and the darkness of the writing or lines that are made with lead. Lead is strong and doesn't break easily like some .5 mm leads

Can't say much really. They do the job. Its lead in my pencil... Can't compare to other brands as I haven't tried anything else.

Just to clarify, this is not, as one might expect for the price, a pack or 12 of the little plastic tubes of lead. It is one plastic tube containing 12 pieces of lead. A bit of a ripoff, really, considering that I just bought 90 pieces of .9 mm lead for the same price.

Be careful, I've noticed that sometimes the "Frequently Bought Together" options will come up with pencils that are not 0.3 size - keep an eye out for that since the sizes won't work together. This lead is great for drawing or writing, HB is a firmer lead so it won't break as much but it's still dark enough to resist smudging (all lead is going to potentially smudge a little bit, but a softer lead will be darker and smudge more). Here's a list of lead grades from firm (lighter writing) to soft (darker writing):4H - 3H - 2H - H - F - HB - B - 2B - 3B - 4BThere are others but these are more commonly seen ones. Artists would normally be more inclined to go after the softer leads for fill and the harder leads for early sketching. For standard writing purposes I use HB-Grade which as you can see is pretty much middle of the line, but F-Grade lead is only very slightly harder and lighter so the end result is just about the same.Good luck with your choice, and I hope this review helped you in some way.-D

the description of the product is very misleading. YOU get the impression that you are buying 12 tubes of lead but that's not true you are buying one tube with 12 leads.

Quality is very good, but it's too expensive for only 12 leads. I wish they have in bulk and cheaper.

I was a bit concerned when buying this that it may have been made with 'post consumer vampire' but it turns out it is undead free, keeping my drawings, schematics, and racist rants from sparkling in the daylight. The leads themselves are sturdy and a good sharp color, forming a great crisp line. The cost bothers me, but not enough to get out of my anti-vampire shelter and head to the local Staples, even in broad daylight. Especially since security at the mall confiscated my wooden stakes and inflatable wannabe goth chick decoy after the last time I ran out of leads.Sig Semper Vampyris!
