I used this for my 2.5 gallon beta tank and it kept it clean for another week. I didn't buy replacement cartridges, just took it apart and cleaned the filter myself. It's not thay noisy unless the motor is pressed against smth or the filter is extremely dirty. It's pretty durable and stayed in it's place in my tank. It also was able to change the intensity of the filter and it didn't suck up my betta. It's pretty easy to put together, and a good bang for your buck. But I recently upgraded to a 20 gal so I had to retire it. Very worth the buy for small tanks.

So I read a lot of reviews people complaining about noise, which if u buy the kit with the air pump it is super quiet. Then people complained about not being able to take the thing apart to clean. I mean for $7 a month I can replace the cartridge. The power is controllable which is nice as it doesn't suck my betta fish in like most filters do. People complained about it making there tank cloudy but I rinsed it really well and ran it for 15 minutes in just a bowl of water to get any excess gunk out and it worked just fine. Didn't make my water cloudy at all. And with in a half hour of running I could tell the water clarity was getting better. I think this is a great filter for my tank which is 1.6 gallons and didn't come with a filter. Very small doesn't take up to much room in his tank. Also filter replacement is very easy. You just pop it out and stick a new one in.

I ordered the full kit that comes with the air pump. It comes with a valve so you can adjust the flow, I think it will work great when I get my new betta since they don't like alot of water movement. The pump is small and super quiet, I have it in my bedroom and have no trouble sleeping with it running, the ceiling fan acctually makes more noise. The set up was super quick and easy. I did have to order a check valve to go with it as I have the pump lower than the tank, but they are super cheap and easy to find online. The only thing I would change would be to make the filter cartridges open so you can change out the media, but other reviews have said they are easy to modify so it shouldn't be an issue. My bowl is ~3 gallons and it doesn't take up much space, still plenty of room for plants and decor. My water is a little cloudy right now but it is still cycling.

This is nice little kit for small tanks up to 5 gallons. Come with everything you need to get started, easy to use and setup. Cleaning and replacing the filter cartridge is simple. Air pump output is great and is very quiet, you hear the bubbles but not the pump.

Hace bien su función de mantener el agua limpia en peceras de bajo litraje, también bien oxigenado el agua, solo que efectivamente, es como de cartuchos y si siempre se va a tener si hay que comprar repuestos, pero de allí en más todo muy bien.

These are great and very easy to use, it works out cheaper than buying them individually. If you're new to this, these are just the replacement filter cartridges and you need to also buy the Small World pump to use with it. I usually need to change the filter every two weeks.

I wanted a small filter/bubbler for a 2 gallon fish bowl and decided to give this one a try because of the price and because it came with a pump. It was easy to set up and install. It stayed suctioned to the side of the glass with no problem. I like that it comes with a release valve so that you can control the amount of air flow. I read a lot of the other reviews where they mentioned too many bubbles - that's probably from not using the enclosed valve. I highly suggest using it if your tank is under 2 gallons. My set up is a 2 gallon fish bowl that's mostly an aqua scape of live plants, driftwood, and gravel. It has an outer heat lamp for the live plants. I'm going to leave about 2 to 3 inches at the top to allow for slight spatter from the bubbles. I do intend to add fish - probably two female bettas, or a few white cloud minnows. Being an aqua scape, I won't add more fish than that. Otherwise, it looks like the filter is going to work great for this set up. So far, so good.

I ordered this product based on some of the positive reviews & the price. The current filter I have, the one that came with my tank is really bulky & takes up a lot of space in the tank. The tube that suctions the water to the filter has also injured my fish in the past if I don't have it down where he is unable to get underneath it. So, I decided to give this one a chance. I've attached a photo of the filter I received. It appears that there is a wing of an insect enclosed within the packaging, which is somewhat off putting. The packaging, though appears bent up a bit is completely sealed so I can only deduce that it happened pre or during packaging. I'm a bit leery, but as timing would have it the filter I currently have & planned to keep in case this new one was a bust just, well, busted. So I really hope all is well with this filter, it works properly & doesn't harm my little guy in any way because that would suck big time & I'd have to smash it into pieces.

After having numerous problems with waterfall filters that suck up small fish and tadpoles, I found this product and would not have any other filter. I use it for my 10 gallon tank and it works very well. All you do is connect it to your aerator. There is no suction at all and no waterfall to toss my small fish around. It cleans the water and provides oxygen for your aquatic buddies. The filter cartridge is visible, so you know exactly when to change it. Not all pet stores carry this product, but it is well worth it to order the extra cartridges online (as you can find it for the same price you would in stores even with shipping). When I accidently threw away the cartridge holder, I went out of my way to find it again for the safety of my fish. However, if you have live tubifex worms, they will make a home out of the filter if it is too close to the ground so I recommend placing it high in your tank. But if it does happen and you don't want to kill them, slowly move the filter out of the water over the course of a day or two and they will wiggle their way out and back to the gravel. But anyways, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone.
