LENGTH ADJUSTEMENT
Easy height adjustment with push button. This paddle is ideal for SUP paddlers between 5'5" and 5'10". The length can be adjusted to 191, 196, 201 cm (75, 77, 79 In.).

Nice paddle, a bit on the heavy side. The only downside, is that despite the adjustments, it is still too long. Had to cut the tube to make it shorter.

My husband and I are starting to dabble in SUPs. We don't live near a coast, but we have plenty of freshwater bodies and rivers where we live so that we can practice for when we can get to the Gulf. Honestly, I've only tried a couple of different boards and paddles, so I'm no expert. What I can say, is that this paddle is consistent with what I've come to expect from this brand.For years I've had a Pelican kayak that came with a paddle. The paddle has held up well (even the joints where it comes apart), but it is definitely heavier than many of its contemporaries. For short hops, it's not so bad, but if you planned on staying out for a considerable amount of time, it will be a factor.At the end of the day, whether or not this paddle will work for you is going to be contingent upon what you plan on doing. For us, it's rather ok.

I had three different stand up paddles from standard paddles to one higher end paddle. I recently lost one and hoped this would be a good replacement. For the money, I didn't expect it to be as good as my higher end paddle. However, this paddle also isn't as good as I'd hoped. I debated between 3 and 4 stars and finally settled on 4 stars because the price isn't bad for the quality.What I don't like about this paddle is that it's advertised as lightweight. However, it's by far the heaviest of the paddles I own. It only has three sizing adjustments so we can't adjust it to fit the children who also use it. It doesn't adjust down short enough. Our other paddles have more holes for adjustment than this one. Not a big deal as we can use the others and assign this one to an adult. Both sides of the paddle is the same on this so it can be used on either side. Some paddles have a concave side that makes steering in the water easier. This paddle works okay with both sides the same but isn't as good as some.I do like that this paddle breaks down into 2 pieces so that it fits in the same backpack as our paddle board. For those looking for a standard paddle at a lower end price point, this paddle works fine.

Pelican is probably the biggest name in this game and this is the first thing I've owned from them.The paddle is a little bit noticeably heavier than my last but that is the only criticism I have.The paddle part is considerably wider than my kayak paddles. I cannot wait to get it into the water.See my pics, you get 4 inches of travel to choose the right length. I prefer this style of adjuster (ball and hole) over the clamp type which isn't as reliable.Pelican for the win! I definitely recommend this one. Will update if I find any issues on the water.

I am going through SUP paddles quickly. They keep breaking at the adjustment points! I bought this paddle because it has the pin adjuster and I thought it would be more solid.Pros- This paddle WAS very solid. There was no wiggle at the adjustment site and it felt strong in the water.Cons- This thing is heavy. Like, the heaviest paddle I have ever owned.The part of the paddle that goes in the water is flat. No curve or scoop or angle. This makes paddling weird and cumbersome.Unless you have this adjusted to the shortest size, you’ll be gripping the paddle at the point where the larger piece slides into the smaller piece, I could see some painful blisters emanating from this.I have pretty low standards when it comes to paddles and this is the only one that I’ve ever had to return.I thought with a brand like Pelican I would have something descent to use but I was wrong.

I use this adjustable paddle for both my ocean kayak and also my standup paddle board. The weight is average and my kids can use this as well. I would buy again.

We have a couple of inflatable paddleboards and the paddles are not that adjustable. This paddle works when the paddle that came with a board doesn't. This paddle is heavier than the paddles that came with the paddleboards.
