We previously purchased this exact oar for our daughter and it through lasted 5+ years of consistent usage. So we bought a new one! It is easy to assemble and disassemble. Comfortable grip for younger kids and easy to use. The only reason we needed a replacement is because where is screws together started getting worn and didn't screw together as tightly as it used to. For the price we didn't expect it to last forever so we were happy to buy a replacement knowing it's good quality.

I bought a kayak for my granddaughter and somehow it came with the middle pole of the paddle missing so the hint was on to find a youth paddle for a 9 year old . Oddly even though I live in a huge lake town no one sold kids paddles . Amazon came through and this was one of several that was found. It affordable easy for her to assemble and works great . Would definitely recommend

The plastic sheared less than 24 hours after receiving it during my son's first use. I (an asthmatic and inexperience kayaker) had to tow my son for 2 hours back upstream and it was hard!My son isn't very big, he weighs less than 80lbs and has a tiny 6ft kayak and he's an experienced kayaker (unlike myself).My husband was also having a diabetic sugar low (BG in 40s) and we did not have any sugar drinks for him as they weren't allowed on the spring so it couldn't have broken at a WORSE time. Spend $5 more and buy an aluminum shaft paddle!

This paddle will probably not last long, but it was inexpensive and will do the job intended. It is NOT 6 ft long. Only 5'.

We just started kayaking and wanted to get one for my daughter who is eight.What you may like1. Very light and the perfect length for kids2. Although plastic it seems sturdy enough3. Comes apart to a much smaller package for easy portability4. Works well for paddling for its size and price.What you may not like1. The plastic threading is not great and there is a little bit of a struggle each time you put it together. It is annoying enough for me to take away a star.
