I bought this paddle because I was going on a canoe trip that was mainly river travel. My main paddle I used before was an (otter tail?) ment for lakes and deep water.I feel in love with this paddle fast and it's quickly become my main paddle. It's durable and light.The only thing I see is that the black paint has worn off the handle where I sometimes use the gunwale to pry for a better stroke in harder conditions or when I'm getting tired.Otherwise it's stood up to me several trips this season. It's been banged off rocks or branches while portaging and has shown no damage

My favorite feature of this paddle is the T-grip handle. Using this handle is not only more comfortable (and ergonomic) than a straight handle, but it allows me to exert more force in each stroke.

Our scouting group was planning a 4 night canoe trip and it was suggested that we bring a "spare" paddle in case one of the rentals gets lost or damaged. This is a nice paddle in its own right, but was perfect for our needs. Nicely balanced and of good weight. Was easy to tie to the gunwales of the canoe. I did swap out the rental paddle for a day to try this one & it worked as expected. Glad we had it.

The Pelican Boats PS0134-3 Canoe Paddle arrived fully assembled, wrapped in protective plastic. The paddle is lightweight, a requirement for me, but completely functional. We ordered this paddle because we just had one break on us. The length was adequate for my height. The black handle made it a little nicer looking than other paddles. The construction was solid. I liked that the shaft continues down into the blade to prevent the paddle from "snapping off". (What we just went through with another paddle we had where the shaft barely went into the blade.). The paddle also seemed more lightweight than others. Overall a very nice paddle.

We have a Mad River Canoe and one paddle got smashed by our horses. I needed a replacement and this was perfect. Lightweight. Works as well as others we have had. Easy to see. Fits in our paddle rail fine. No complaints or regrets.

These paddles were better quality than I was expecting them to be. We needed something at the last minute and ordered these. The fit in the hand is nice as well as the length. Works well for my husband and I and our kids age ranged 8-12
