Our dog absolutely hates booties. I can't get them to stay on his feet. No matter how tightly I velcro any booties, he is able to kick them off. This is especially inconvenient as we are walking in the freezing snow and eventually he holds his paws up or begins to limp. These rubbery balloon-looking-things have been a godsend! They are a pain to put on his feet, I admit. (Though I did see another review where someone bought a decide that helps spread the rubber to get them on.) They are the shape of a deflated balloon, so the top is very tight. However, once on, it doesn't appear to make him uncomfortable one bit and it keeps his feet completely dry! They are tight on his ankle but "balloon" around his toes. I make sure that none of his nails are poking the edge, which they shouldn't considering the width of the foot-part. This keeps him from tearing through them (he was in between sizes so I sized up). And best yet, they stay on his feet and don't appear to be slipping whatsoever! The temp is in the single digits right now and I am so grateful to have these boots for my dog. I even think he is beginning to put together that he's more comfortable with them on.

I've tried multiple different types of boots but keep coming back to these because they are the only ones that my dog can mostly walk in normally, and stay on (kinda).PSA the rolled rubber neck it too tight to leave these on a dog for too long. it will cut off circulation and cause swelling. I gently trim that part off, so it's mor comfortable, however they are more prone to falling off because of this...Also my dog is a woodsy hiking dog, who runs all over rock and sticks and does kickies every time he pees! He's half wild. So these never last for a whole hike. he either looses some, or shreds them. so they are a maybe 1 time use for me. But I only need to use them on extremely cold days when his paws hurt to walk on the snow, so I guess it's worth carrying them around in my pocket to replace as they disintegrate.Pro tip: I use a canning jar to stretch the boot around the rim and insert his foot. This only works if I put them on at home. in the field, we have to struggle with them every time.

These boots are the only thing that works for my 7lb Pomeranian, Muffin, during winter. With all the salt my condo board adds, she used to refuse to walk. The Paws Jawz tool makes putting the boots on so easy, and they stay on while keeping her paws safe and comfortable. If you have a small dog, these are a game changer!

This product is amazing for small dogs especially who can wiggle their way out of other boot types because of their very thin legs. They are super easy to put on and fit well and stay on well. At first my dog was confused but once she went outside in the snow with them on to go potty she loved them. They kept her paws dry and pretty warm. And as soon as we came back in we were able to just roll them off clean them up and set them aside because they are reusable! The rubber is a nice thick quality. They may look a little goofy but they work well.

I don’t think I’ve ever given a one star rating before, but this product deserves it. I bought a set of these for my male Belgian Tervuren, about a 70 pound dog. I had him stand on paper, drew lines in front of his claws and just behind his rear pad, measured the distance (3 5/8 inches) and followed the fitting advice to order the LARGE size. This size is for Akitas, Labs, etc.The balloon part is fine - there is enough room for his paw. HOWEVER (big problem alert), the neck of the boot is so tight that a) it takes two people to put it on his paw and b) it hurts his leg because of the constriction - he holds his paws up and tries not to stand on them, and c) it’s very difficult to pull the boots off the paws once you finally get them on because the neck is SO tight.Perhaps I got a defective set, but this product is of zero use for me. I have no idea what these were made for - baby giraffes? Seriously, the ankles on these things are so much too small that it’s laughable.UPDATE: I wrote to the Pawz company about this but nobody has responded. I wanted to say to those of you who have the same problem we did that if you cut the tops of the boots off just below the lip it becomes workable, at least it did for us. The boots can then be put on by one person (although women might have more trouble than men due to the hand strength issue - I'm a guy and I didn't have any trouble) and the boots do not fall off on a long walk. I can't speak to how they stay on with active play or work because we don't do that with this older dog. I am leaving my review at one star because this is an issue the company really needs to address, even if it is in such a basic way as to inform customers via some text on the label. The boots do seem to work once you alter them, and when they work they should get a better review than I am giving them, but...they are really awful straight out of the box and the company's response to my inquiry was terrible, as in non-existant. Pawz needs a wakeup call, so my rating stands.Just know what you are getting in to.
